Love it when gems are sitting on a shelf, I try to jump onto the shelf, and falls right through it into a pit. Maybe make the gems look like they're FLOATING if you can't land on the LEDGE they're SITTING on! Also great how if you die, you have to wait 10 seconds for that stupid level summary thing to finish before you can retry.
Figuring it out took a while, but I think I have a good setup. First, keep life at 120. This makes workers die every 3 minutes, letting them "swap out" as new workers are born in houses, keeping the population stable.
Keep sight:land at a 2:3 ratio. For example, at 300 land there are 200 buildings, and 100 resource plots; 50 on the left and 50 on the right. So standing on the border of the town, a worker only needs 50 vision to see to the end of the world, which comes out to 200, or just keep sight=buildings in the info tab. Normal workers will stay near the border, picking up low quality items. So have a few investors/royals to pick up the good stuff far away, but main mage/wizard.
Also, buildings are proportionate to land, and NOT built in groups surrounding stashes. If you have the materials, a building will build automatically when you add land, 2 buildings for every 3 plots. Your stats will start to skyrocket as you add more land, so don't worry about it starting slowly
Would like to see something like a specialist class. Like after collecting 1,000 of a single resource, you get a specialist that ONLY picks up that resource (and maybe has a bonus to sight). For example, I want a clay specialist. I have 267 buildings, but only 4 housing ones. No matter what class(es) I pick, they won't build houses. My religion, enrichment, education, and refinement are all 200+ and my supply is over 1,000. But my housing is a whopping 20. They absolutely refuse to build houses.
