Shark4675 Hear is my opinons I have been a competitor all my life. I rarely find a story in gaming that holds my attention. They aren't detailed enough. Aside from games like Zelda, vice city, red dead, etc. I don't play games for their story. I also don't play a game based on it's gameplay as it rarely interests me. Sometimes I find a game with a fun gameplay style that fully engulfs me, like Majora's Mask, but more than anything else I play for competition. And to me it just seems like shooters offer the most level playing field while at the same time allowing you to truly compete. That and they are the most active online.
