Release lots of pressure all at once into the top pipe, that will fire it, Then to reload you need to put a little pressure into the bottom one for a few seconds.
Hey, could you update the KOHCTPYKTOP: Engineer of the People game and maybe when you make the transistor it will have labels on it for the emitter, collector, and base? It would make it a bit less daunting of a game. Still fun though.
