The later levels in this game are.so.boring. Tape your mouse button down, spam air strikes and bombs, and stare at your screen with glossed over eyes drooling for 10 minutes. The game isn't hard at all, it's just stupidly repetitive and less exciting than staring at a blank wall. In fact, I think I'm honestly going to stare at my wall right now, because it's more fun. Weeeee!
This game is brutal! I do think it was well done, fun nostalgic look, cool tunes. Waaaay to classic-nintendo-unforgiving for me though, I have no patience for it.
Getting Expert on missions is simple, if you pretend this isn't a tower defense game. Max out all bomb upgrades, starting cash and money per kill. Place one super tower towards the end of the map, hold "N" down to summon all waves instantly and bomb the heck out of them. You can hold shift and just keep clicking to keep bombing. I think it's the only way to Expert the higher levels and it's pretty lame if you ask me. You also might break your mouse on the last few because you have to click as fast as your finger possibly can. Thanks for the tip Tenshi Samshel!
Expert thing is -really- lame. You have to send the waves soooo quickly, and that really gives you no opportunity to master any technique or tactics. Sure, the first few levels are easy to Expert, but when you have 30, 40+ waves, you have no idea if your constant every 2-3 seconds pressing Send Wave is "on par" for Expert or not. You have to walk an incredibly thin line between pressing Send Now just quick enough and not too quickly. And if you send just 3 or 4 waves a second or two too slow out of 30, you'll probably be a few points short. Send one wave a second too quick and you die. Honestly it's not fun.
I can't confirm this, but I'm guessing if you use the in-game restart (pressing R) it might break the badges? I beat it in less than 8 minutes and no badge for me (used R several times). Came back later and, beat it in less than 8 on my first attempt and got the badge.
The ghost platforms (fade in and out) around level 40 add a whole new level of what some might call a challenge, but I honestly find lame. It doesn't make solving the actual path to the goal any harder, you just end up erasing and putting the platforms back in until the timing is just right, which is annoying.
*Kungfutrip runs up to you sobbing* - "I'm so glad you're here, I was playing on Kongregate minding my own business when Dream World attacked and dishonored me! Please avenge my honor by finding and defeating the Dream World developers and I will give you a sweet reward." Accept this quest? Seriously though, I quit. I can't take it anymore. If you are less than level 40 and think you're going to breeze on through to the end, just stop now, go play something better and save yourself the boredom. Really. I'm trying to help you. It just takes longer and longer and... Kudos to the developers for making the ultimate pile of crap.
This game is just... awful. How do you sit down and make such a boring game? The energy point (wait till later to play more or pay us cash) system is lame. The skill system is bland and pointless. The sliding bar when using a skill is just stupid. The repetitive one click combat system is mind numbing. There's about 4 different puzzles that are trivial to solve. The artwork blows. I mean honestly, there is nothing positive I can think of to say about this game. Each zone is just the last zone with no plot, more bad art and you'll spend about twice as long wondering why you really want the Hard Badges until you get far enough in this abomination to switch from "wanting the badge" to "dear god I've already wasted so much precious life I can't possibly quit now for nothing." Oh wait, I can stop ranting, I have another point of energy...
Juggling really isn't that fun and if there weren't badges, I don't think many people would be playing this exceptionally boring and repetitive (with annoying layout twists and occasionally non target-able ghosts - JOY!) game.
i hate this game. there's no visual cue to where the little guy is positioned relative to the very unforgiving edges. add a shadow? add faint corner lines so you know where the edge to rotate is?
or just leave the stupid grey antenna'd thing running to his death over and over while you open a new tab and play something more interesting... at least that's somehow satisfying.
I'm stuck on the bomb in zone 6... after getting the Legend achievement (no repeat fights), can you start repeating fights to get higher level and still get the Over the Ashes achievement?
awful, boring, my finger hurts from holding the mouse button down... probably should have just taped it and wildly moved it around while doing something else, would have probably beat it.
listen to everyone's comments or just delete it. no one will miss it.
