for those who struggle with a game over menu, try making it in a seperate frame on the root timeline. then right click on both frames and type stop()
On the death function for you ship, rather than showing the game over menu, put _root.gotoAndStop("The frame with game over in it") similiarly with your button, make one, give it an instance name on the game over menu and type into the frame actions
"button's instance name".onPress = function()
{
gotoAndStop("Frame with main game on it")
}
Hope this helped!
Guys... don't attack the tutorial... it's a brilliant resource and saves many hours work learning the basics of flash, oh and @Nathaniel100 yes it does, because that program uses as2.0... kthxbai
3/5... This is an average out of my 5/5 for making something and 1/5 for it being about chuck Norris and not a Hate game... man I hate that guy >.< such a prick...
Oh... my god... I just worked out how to get past level 13, first you want to reduice the recoil on your thermo nuclear launchers by increasing their upgrade level. But to make up for the increased power out put place them all on one side and power them down whilst they are on the wrong side of the planet, using at least level 4 emp to slow down the rockets. I hope this helps I was having trouble ont his level so I presumed others were too. KTHXBAI
I love the bit where your attack time lowers by loads for a bit, that's my favourite power up, the upgrade system is immense, hope other players work out how to play too :D 5/5
DannyDaNinja: Hey thanks,that's an Idea I never thought of, I may actually work on it, that would be pretty easy with just a few more frames and some more classes.
Cyber77: Thanks for the feedback.
SlimeMasterA9Z:
5bd5bd: Sentences start with capital letters, also try adding some actual feedback rather than a pointless comment.
Lukiediewalker: 1/5 just for being a shoot, wow harsh, well everyone has to start somewhere mate, you go learn action script then say that.
Brilliant game, and inspiring, the story was well written, ( if you'd call it a story) and the simplicity is beautiful, it makes me wish I had the time to create a brilliant masterpiece such as this, 5/5
voids arn't hard, you let them drag you in, and slash them, you must make sure you are far from the laser, on an edge of the area... time your slash right and you get them
Ok, on the power ups, I've taken the code for the shield, and used it to make my own temporary "wingmen" these add shots when you fire, I've made an if statement in my ship class checking for it's visibility before firing the extra shots, but now my ship just fires the shots anyway, any help?
I've found a funky way of showing Hp, I've added Dynamic text with a fixed percent sign next to it floating above bosses / hero ship, when hit, the percent goes down. It seems to work really well, makes the game feel more my own.
