Video was worth a laugh. Game is worth 2-3 plays. Once in the tunnel the left/right turning is delayed. If the steering was more responsive game might be worth more plays. 2/5
ppl crying about collision, when you absorb and are right next to diff color you collide because of growth...there is no bug besides your lack of spatial judgement. No high score keeping (-1) monotonous (-1) nice soundtrack
Original Protector is superior to this version imo. The hero/inventory/element swapping systems create unnecessary downtime from the core of the game. I thought this was an amazing game until I tried the first Protector. As implemented, the hero system subtracts enjoyment from the actual tower defense game for me. I wish I knew about this series before now though, it is far superior to other tower defense games (only competition being Desktop Tower Defense Pro, and Cursed Treasure). All in all, too much fluff- take out the hero/item swapping system and you are left with a winning formula. As another commenter put it: "I liked Protector better without heroes."
Top quality game. Good luck on the $1500 prize for June, you definately deserve it (although The Enchanted Cave is an amazing game).
Observations: -melee units need to get buffed
-side quests border on impossible to complete (some of the storyline quests would be too except you can repeat them until you get a winning formula)
-the [absorb] ability seems bugged (ex. Lich boss on one of the storyline quests absorbs magical fire dmg, but takes dmg from crossbow fire elemental)
