This loaded as the "Kong is down for a bit, so play this." game. I love the beefed up minimalist games like this...But the music implies one thing which is not provided in the game...Why can't I do a barrel roll???
I really like these kinds of games. The only suggestion I have is that instead of the numbers in the rows and columns highlighting when you get it right (the actual blocks correctly marked), they should highlight whenever their individual conditions are met. It's too easy to pick an edge and quickly trial and error it and then go from there. So if 1 2 4 were the numbers for a row of 10, they would highlight whether you had OXOOXOOOOX, OXXOOXOOOO, OXOOXXOOOO, or OXOOXOOOOX. Maybe also add an option to mark a row or column as "certain" or "locked", because that's one thing that you would lose by this. But I think this would help limit player strategy to the intended logic of the game.
Guide to badge of the day: 1. Go to first city you find. 2. Try to capture it. 3. Just run out in front of your men. 4. Die. .... Easiest 10 points ever.
Sometimes, I really enjoy a game at first, and then I end up getting really bored with it and just want to finish out the badges so that I can just forget about it. This same game keeps on coming back. I wouldn't mind another Papa L game...but I would prefer it to be a "Shoot Papa in the face for continuing to exploit me for his restaurants' profit" type of game next time.
Ok, for some actual helpful commenting...I tried the up and down u-turns on passage, but then found a way that worked better for me. I just limited myself to two keys; down and right. Once my snake got big enough to meet its tail, I just went in a down and across pattern, hitting down than quickly right every second and a half (adjusting for the upcoming pellet). This plus patience made it relatively easy to beat the score. Speaking of which, I can't believe that these badges are based on the dev's actual high-scores. High-score after how many attempts?
Do I have some setting wrong or something. I'm collecting the pills as fast as they appear (+ most direct route to them) on Sea Snake and I still run out of air between 4-6 constantly.
I've seen some -1'ing for this honest comment, but it's true, you can mouse rush every regular, wagon, and boss level. Some might say, "Well, that's just one strategy." But it's too obvious and I failed maybe 4 times throughout the game. It doesn't really encourage use of a lot of what was put into the game. Now if the characters and enemies had strengths and weaknesses that you had to balance...that would have helped a lot. These are really just Hard badges based on time spent...and I've spent a lot more time towards several medium badges out there. Still, fun game though. If the developer reads these comments and applies them to a sequel, it would be worth checking out. Also, have a native English speaker check your wording next time. Unless you're really fast at doing everything else in developing the game, it just seems sloppy to not just do that one last thing after all of the work.
Just the highest scores I had while developing and testing the game.
