How do I change to WASD controls? I picked mouse at first because it was "recommended", but the character follows the cursor sluggishly, making it an awful control option. I can't seem to get the choice between the two to reappear, though. I would really prefer not to have to delete cookies just for this.
That's a cheap trick on level 35 - one of the stars requires that you break some glass to drop acid on enemies. However, the glass and acid are both almost completely obscured by the "walkthrough" button, and are not at all necessary to clear the level normally, so there's really no way to solve it unless you either happen to hit the glass by accident, or look very closely at a random spot in the level for no reason.
I like the idea, but this game is kind of a pain to actually play. You really need to be able to see ahead of time which blocks will vanish when lit - removing that information doesn't make the game harder, it just makes you waste time through trial and error.
I haven't even started playing yet, but I just want to say that the first one was probably the best TD game on Kongregate at the time of its release, and I am so happy to see that this exists.
I have to wonder - if you were patient and obsessed enough to take a yellow block all the way to either the beginning of the end, you would be able to get significantly farther in either direction than by merely jumping. Is there anything over there?
Whew. Tougher than the first one, certainly. I bashed my head against Alchemy Lab in particular for about an hour, but finally got all gold. Both of these games are in my top 5 Kongregate puzzle games. Make more, please! :-)
I'm having a weird problem in V.2. Things are sometimes, apparently at random, falling very slowly. They still maintain their normal horizontal velocity, and still die when hitting the ground from the same falls. This makes solving this level either impossible or extremely dependant on luck.
So, it seems like the best way to do this is to max out money per second, then grab green ultimate, then max out reduced extra time cost, health per red, 2 points in time per red then red ultimate, then the rest of your points in either green or blue health. 2 health costs 200, but gives you 450 back, so once you've got the money per second and reduced extra time cost, you want to pump all of your health into time at the end of each level, then pay to heal back up. This strategy will get you over 200,000 with a decent memory. The top scores are clearly impossible, though, unless there's something huge I'm missing about this game.
This is really nice. I wish energy were more relevant, though. Upgrade it once or twice and you'll never run out again. This is even more true in the later fights, where the enemies' far superior stats force you to use a lot of defense and counter powers, and those don't require energy.
The low rankings here are baffling. This is far and away the best card game I've played on Kongregate. The game mechanics themselves are simple, but the card design is actually balanced, which is almost unheard of in free ccgs. Offensive and defensive strategies are both viable, there are many worthwhile synergies, and not a single card I've seen has been either totally worthless or far too powerful. An easy 5/5.
There's nothing in the game, not even an achievement, that rewards you for fixing the car quickly. It seems like the focus of a game like this should be getting out as fast as possible, balancing long-term survival and short-term zombie blasting, but here you can just kill things, fix up the car as an afterthought when there's nothing to kill, and win easily. This is just a shooting game that throws in the main mechanic of Balloon in a Wasteland without any of the careful balancing that makes that mechanic relevant. It's still quite fun and well made, but disappointing compared to what it could have been.
This is incredibly good. I wish there was some indication of gates that are currently off, or of covered obstacles, so that memory wasn't as much of an issue, but that's a very minor gripe. You have created an excellent puzzle game, and deserve more than the 5/5 this rating system is limited to.
Grats on all gold! Alchemy Lab is the hardest room I think, followed by Chamber of Souls.
