The "greedy bastard" engineering talent isn't really useful. 2% of 60 rounds down to one for some of those points, and to zero on the less expensive towers.

Great Sea is in invincible. No clan is. I've beat the game with every clan, twice. It is possible to have individual duels that you cannot possibly win. But that's a matter of your gameplay up to that point, not just the clan combination. If you're failing the young mage contest, you're doing something wrong. Try spending your points differently. I assure you it can be won with any clan.
Plasma bullet and helicopter is all you need to beat the game. The sonic shot and laser might technically do more damage per second when fully upgraded, but the game may be over before you have enough money to find out. Just upgrade the plasma bullet. It's all you need.
Is there any reason to use archers? Spearmen do more damage, have more health and armor, and bounce around so they tend to avoid hits. Why use an archer?
Roudns rapidly become long and tedious. I feel like I'm constantly sitting and WAITING for things to die. And twice now, after ten minutes of holding donw the mouse button waiting for these things to die I've failed on the very last wave. I just don't feel thrilled to sit and wait for ten more minutes of holding down the mouse walking in circles.
Game is a bit dull. Awkward only being able to fire horizontally. The flying monsters can travel through walls. Bosses are easy. Whole game is easy, I feel like I'm just going through the motions rather than playing. Leveling doesn't seem to make any difference...there's no danger. Got a flashlight but the lighting didn't change. The achivements don't do anything in-game, and most of them seem like things you do just by beating the game. Cut-scenes are pretty, but the game itself feels empty and incomplete.

Use the combiend attack special to combine all those bolts into a single huge bolt. Conbined bolts lose power based on the power of what they hit, not number of bolts. So that 640 power hitting 200 damage worth of defense would be 440 damage. Combined bolts are extremely useful. Also useful as a defense to combine up all your upper and lower bolts into a single defense when conbined bolts are used on you.
@PostManLuke
1) The trigger those events once they become available you need to actually go look for them in in the "Explore" section of any town. 2) No, you can't save or spends points in the middle of the final battle. Deal with it. You can't save or spend points in between duels in the young mage tournament either, but nobody is complaining about that. Remember you can replay any duel over if you make a mistake. If the two points from winning the previous duel durign that final battle are enough to make you win or lose the next duel, you're doing something horribly wrong.
@pielover321
You mean the young mages tournament? On month 8 of 211 the town crier will annoucne a duel for you in the following month. Win that duel to get into the competition. Or, you you lose, simply sabotague the student, and you'll still get to go. As for the final battle, not saving is part of it...but if you're highly ranked in the book when you go into it, you won't have to fight all the battles. Most of them will be auto-won through dialogue, no duel needed. Get #1 rank and you can win the final battle with no more than 2-3 duels. Also, there's no benefit to fighting down to the last man. Once you have the option to "end this war" go ahead and just do that, and you'll win the game without fighting the remaining mages.
@womenloveme
For the final battle, if your side outnumbers and/or outpowers the other side, you can end it in victory immediately without fighting. Also, the more highly ranked you are in the book, the fewer of those battles you'll actually have to fight. If you're number 1, for example, you'll probably only need to fight 1 or 2 battles, the rest you'll "auto win" through dialogue.
Pretty, but awkward. People you can't talk to, counterintuitive movement directions, puzzle elements that require you to go places in a certain sequence to get credit...meaning you tend to wander back and forth everywhere repeatedlyt to find stuff that wasn't there last time you visited, nonsensical stuff like grabbing things from behind shopkeepers, plus the usual gameplay of "click everywhere to be sure you didn't miss something." The game is pretty, but it's more of an art project than a game.
-- What I'd really like to see is game balance such that it's not practical to do the more prestigious things like become great mage on the first playthrough. But by earning titles you get bonuses that carry over from game to game, bonus points to skills, new clans and spells become available, etc. So by earning titles and rewards you can build up a more pwoerful character over several playthroughs by collecting all the titles, beating the game as every clan type etc. Make it a multi-generational game. Maybe Book of Magic 3.
-- Also, this game is totally complex enough to merit having a FAQ or playguide. I've played through several times, and I see a lot of comments from people that aren't correct, and some complaints and questions that show that some people aren't quite getting how things are supposed to work.
Half the achievement diamonds don't matter. There's nothing you can get with 455 diamonds that you can't get with 250, and getting more than 455 requires you to buy them.
