The game is painfully slow. I click and it's like 3-4 seconds before anything happens. Scroll is slow, units are slow, game pace is slow....it's just slow.
This game is unbelievably, stupidly bad. The solutions are totally random. "Use the buddha statue on the steel rod to make a crowbar?" "attach the wristwatch to the taser to make a detonation timer?" Half this stuff won't make sense even after you do it. Nobody is beating this game without following the walkthrough step by step, and even then it's tedious trying to find the things you're supposed to do.
Bad. Just bad.
Winner strategy:
It's all about population, and preventing any cities from idling at maximum. Don't waste your time with magic. Fireball is the only spell that matters, and even that's optional. There are some levels you can win in the first 20 seconds by waiting for the enemy to move out of their capital, then sending your army there and landing a fireball right before they arrive. Then capture the smaller settlements they captured. Otherwise, all you need to do is mindlessly sweep the mouse over everything you own and send them to capture population centers. Invest skill points in attack, agility defence and speed. Nothing else matter. You won't be casting spells, and there's no need to farm XP to win. Just play straight through.
Good luck.
When will level designers figure out that it's not a "puzzle" if it's perfectly obvious what you're supposed to do, but you need to do it a billion times until you find exactly the right spot to click.
Two owls level:
There's just a stupid single pixel spot where your cursor changes to the hand on the left roughly where the bottom of the moon would be.
I dislike level design where even after watching a walkthrough video you have to do it over and over for five minutes straight hoping to land on exactly the right pixel you need.
Note:
You DON'T have to collect every MIS on every level for the acheivement. There are enough extras that you can miss about 10 of them and still get it.
Stupidly bad. The game is a random number generator to see if you win or not. evolution points are awarded senselessly: why do I get credit for sitting and doing nothing, but not for killing billions of people? Infection is urnealistic and unfun. Why does the game just *end* when there are no more infected people when a disease can exist in water, air, insects and rats?
Bad design, not fun, and not much to do except sit and wait, then restart, the wait, over and over.
