After thinking about it again, and re-thinking about the title "Loved". I'm pretty sure everyone has got the metaphor atleast slightly wrong. It has to be something about the confusion caused by a relationship. When you are following the traditions and norms, life is good, but bland. When you disobey the norms of a relationship, things get more interesting, but they get muddled up and confused. You can't see the dangers as clearly (red blocks as spikes) and good blends in with bad.
The very end shows a narrow corridor (if you disobey the relationship). Walking out of the relationship? Confused? Alone?
I know the purpose of this game, and I know I'm going to get down-rated for this, but:
Everybody talks about rebellion like it is such a great thing. Stoners and no-lifers are our rebellers and our people that develop cures are usually followers. I honestly believe that rebellion is over rated. Some people just assume that fun is only had through rebellion, but I don't believe this for an instant.
On a tangent. I don't believe this game is hugely deep. I believe that is the definition of over rated. It only goes into the topical issues of rebellion slightly, and in a black and white (no pun intended) way, where EVERYTHING against the person is good and EVERYTHING for them is bad. And finally, I know that this game is more of an art experiment but I still think that the gameplay could have been improved for such a game. Not complicated, but improved. Graphics on the other hand were almost entirely suitable, but I couldn't tell wether the colors were meant to represent confusion aswell.
It really just feels like the first few levels of a good game. The difficulty should ramp up after this and there should be atleast 20 levels, but it was fun while it lasted. 4/5 -1 for demo, so 3/5.
Everyone keeps on saying that the ending to this is so great, and yes it is fairly good, and original, but I would compare it to a comedic one liner, you get a good laugh but it's not like it's a huge deal. An ongoing joke is so much funnier.
I'd give the game a rating of 2/5. It doesnt have any challenge, replayability, level change, (much if any)sound and the graphics are ok but not special. That doesn't stop this from being a great attempt and now you have an engine that you can modify with better gaphics, some sound and maybe even code in some challenge (probably just a time limit to see who can get the most in that time)
Kador, I don't believe you lol. I get to about 300 seconds and then the missiles very litterally come in unavoidable walls, that and it's lagging like crazy, probably 8fps. I doubt you survived to 558.
