Had to erase my flash cache because it was lagging my browser/flash/game. But now I'm back at the beginning. Is there a way to prevent this?

Try right clicking, Settings, Local Storage, and giving kongregate more space for flash saves. Even though it doesn't look like you're using a lot of the space it helps since this game tries to save so often.
