OMG! Soooo pretentious!! hehe not reallly. I actually HATE pretentiousness, but I found that this wasnt pretentious at all, but quite sweet and a bit sad. I liked it :-)
Enjoyable game. Just a couple of suggestions for improvements. a) tidy up the story a little bit..it could be polished a little. I know what you were going for.. but... b) game AI should have to obey the same rules as us. So, having the enemy start with fully upgraded everything seems unfair and is frustrating. Have the enemy start off the same as us and have them progressively upgrade as we have to.
OMFG. I'm sorry, and please know that I dont usually have such a negative reaction to stories in these games.. but that was the most retarded, spastic, self-indulgent crap I have ever played (from a story point of view). It was trying to be deep, but touching on concepts that anyone over the age of 6 has already thought about and come to terms with. It's trying to be quirky, and yet emo at the same time. BIG TIME FAIL here in the story sorry to say. The gameplay was ok.
not sure if this is a bug or deliberate.. but on two levels there seem to have been two possible solutions. I solved it using one and all the numbers were greyed out (i triple-checked), but the level didn't finish. I had to reset.. and then I came up with a different picture that ended the level. Deliberate?
Dialog was way to wordy with a meaningless, quirky back and forth.. dialog that doesn't progress the story in any way. I stopped playing pretty much after meeting the guy in the room who gave you the fake ID (right near the start).. what a laborious conversation that was. AND, your character doesn't look Indian, so 2/3rds of that conversation was pointless. I want to play a game.. not read drivel.
Is the AI conforming to the same physics and vehicle specifications as we have to? I swear I'm on the last level and the speed that these AI vehicles get through the air is impossible to achieve..
Wow, I'm not sure why people are being so harsh here! I thought the game was great! Also agree with the minor annoyance of the enemy knowing where you are sending your troops the instant you click there, thereby providing backup to the place where you are attacking.
The way the story was presented was ok. It was sort of like the movie Momento, but at least Momento had an actual reason to present the story the way it did. This game however, there was no reason to present the story backwards, except to disguise the fact that the story was extremely simplistic and make it a little interesting.. which is ok. The actual random clicking was terrible though.
Gameplay was ok - have seen it before, but ok I'm really getting bored of these sorts of stories. Found it predictable - yet another one of those "trying hard to be philosophical" stories that just end up the same as the rest... ie
a) you die in the end or b) you were already dead the whole time.
It's like there's a template. Piano music - check. Same story - check. The only thing it didn't have for this type of story was silhouette graphics in front of bright hue backgrounds!
What a nice, simple and beautiful ending. To be honest, I was expecting yet another cliched, ambiguous, dark ending that I've come to expect from games like this on Kongregate - "and now... i am dead'.. type endings. I'm so glad it didn't fall into the cliche and came up with something quite simple, with only a hint of ambiguity/complexity.
I'm not sure what level you were on, but if it was crazy they could have. Teams share a pool of cards - this works to your advantage in Europe but against you in Crazy and Insane. A team of 3 can get a card in one turn.
ok, just had a very quick game, but I bombed too early to see the huge numbers appear. Saying that, I did notice this bug and so here are screenshots. It could be indicative of a larger problem.
Round 2, the AI doesn't have any regions, yet somehow is able to grow by 11 armies. The graph shows only 5, but the step-by-step history shows adding 4 and adding 7.

Please hover over the red button in the top-right and screenshot that. This will make it easier, too, as you'll only need one screenshot - it will show what they're deploying, what cards they played and what their income is. I'm guessing this case is explained by them playing a card, but I can't be 100% sure since the screenshots only show part of the game window. Please include the whole game window - I can't even see what level this is.
FIZZERWL, don't get me wrong, you put together a beautiful game here.. It's just that, even when I looked at the history it was wrong. When I looked at the chart, the light blue (for example) was gaining less troops per turn than me by far.. then suddenly, in one turn, it gained 200 troops taking it's total above mine (and also for that turn, the troops per turn WAY above mine). Anyway, if I get some time to play it again, I'll post you a screenshot.
When the game is over, you can go back to that point in history and you'll be able to see the entire map. Then you can add up their bonus income, add 5 base, and also access the orders list in the upper right to see what cards they played that turn and exactly how many they deployed. Add all these up, and it should match up.
There's definitely a bug in this game somewhere. I've looked through the history and see an AI who can only generate 5 armies per turn (because they hold no territories) suddenly gain 100 armies. There's no way that they can generate that even if they held on to their +6 army cards from the start. This happens at least once per game. I've seen an AI suddenly gain 200 armies in a turn. Reviewing the history and the charts, there is just no way that this should be possible. I think you need to check the code somewhere..
