Add a menu to start the game, and also, a line that focuses on the stage when the game starts (that way you wont have to click the screen to use the arrows/spacebar). Nice start, you have a long way to go though.
Cool game, it could use a little visual polishing, and I agree the chip should bounce of the edges of the stage. Having it wrap-around is a little unexpected, and it kind of throws the game out of balance, scorewise. Good work though 3/5
The first level should be a tutorial that demonstrates how the ball works, your directions are very unclear and a visual aid would make starting the game less painful. If you don't use a tutorial, consider adding an "instructions" screen that offers a visual demonstration of how the levels work.
I agree that there should also be a "next level" button, rather than going back to the level select screen between each.
The graphics seem pretty low-quality, there should be a quality mode (if the game is optimized for Iphone, perhaps have it default to medium or low).
Cool concept, not very well-polished, in my opinion. 2/5
Yeah, this is nothing like Bubble Bobble, Bubble Bobble is a platform game where you trap enemies in bubbles then collect points for the fruit they drop... I can't remember the original puzzle-shooter like this, but it's a good copy of a concept that's already been done. 3/5
Well done, but there isn't a whole lot that makes this stand out from the original Asteroids. It would be cool if you added something (even just graphics/polish) to make your version stand out. Good work though, keep it up.
Lots of updates have been made to the game and will be uploaded soon. Then I'll be "polishing" the graphics, animations, sounds (I got rid of the pew pew pew) and gameplay before the not "beta" version of the game is uploaded.
I think penalizing the player for wrong entries might be a good idea on the harder difficulty levels, e.g. you type a wrong letter, the enemy gets closer
The sounds are from a sound library I purchased, and I was aiming for the retro-arcade style. After some thought I think I will disable the shooting sounds because the "pew pew pew" is a little annoying...
@ZeroSober1 - That will be coming in the future versions, this is just a Beta :D
Cool idea, you should add some more friction to the ball you control, and work on a smoother control system, the keyboard is too sensitive, the mouse controls are very awkward. It's also very difficult to tell what's going on, there should be a clearer indicator of where the balls are coming in from
Pretty cool, Brain. It's not quite a "game", persay, but for a first project, I think you've done very well on it. Keep up the good work. Try to find a way to make this more interactive and it will be much more fun. Programmers like myself may think it's kind of cool to punch in some numbers and adjust some variables and click and watch the magic happen, but the average player needs a challenge of some sort to keep them motivated. Again, well done. :D
