I reaally tried to force myself to watch the intro, but I just couldn't stand it. After reading a hundred sentences five times over because they progressed so slowly (and writing a few comentaries here and surfing the web a bit in between) I just had to skip the intro. Slowest. Intro. Ever.
jake123 Im pretty sure the saved data is stored locally, so if you can't access the computer you saved the game on you'll have to start over.
IP adress has got nothing to do with it.
ummmyeah: you are right, you gain a lot by upgrading your mana pool early on. But I was talking about whether or not there is any advantage with having a lot of mana saved up. There's not. Except when fighting epic bosses.
Harcon01: The Mana Pool uppgrade has nothing to do with your amount of stored mana. It increases your maximum POSSIBLE mana limit, not the amount you currently have. And it increases the rate by which you gain new mana.
Having 11k+ unused mana is a huge waste IMHO, unless your saving up for an epic boss.
I can't see that any skill would benefit from having a big mana pile either.
Tips: Make sure every tile is protected by nearby bunkers. I had the whole middle row just bunkers.
From mid-game and onwards, don't build ion cannons. What you need is missile complexes, and lots of them. They will be dishing out the damage.
When the end boss came along I had 14 missile complexes, all tiles built and fully uppgraded, all technologies researched and about 30k to spare. It destroyed five of my buildings (which I replaced immediatly) before getting its huge interstellar but kicked.
There's a bug in it (and I don't mean the ants): If you click stuff in the wrong order in front of the ant queen, you'll be left standing with nothing to click and not being able to restart the scene. Meaning you have to replay the whole game.
What tha? I finished challenge mode on insane but didn't get Planet D! I finished by reaching the secret safe haven though, so obviously you have to reach the ordinary haven.
Bugged out. I was building a tower with like a million connections, and at 815 m i could no longer build bars between joints, and around a minut later i lost without anything breaking or touching the ground.
Bug: It seems sometimes when i build in the top right and bottom left spots, and the rightmost second from the bottom and leftmost second from the top, the building disapears after a few seconds.
To beat level 8, start with building a fossil fuel power plant. This should solve all of your energy problems for the time being. Use your starting research points to change the garbage trucks into using natural gas, so you don't run out of resources as fast. Build a lab and start uppgrading. Keep your base tight at least for the first night.
