Way too linear. Go play Extra Mario Bros for ideas on how to have a game that allows a bit of exploration while only going forward.
Also, several crippling bugs as has been pointed out by other commenters.
Overall, not a bad start, but it needs a lot more work.
Well, to all those people who say your men won't move, that's because you're not telling them to. (As much as I hate them, I can see the appeal of forced tutorials.)
Anyway, great game, but a bit easy. For that and the lack of high scores, I had to give it a 4/5.
Yeah, this is pretty much Scorched Earth with a time limit. My only problem is that the extra turrets are almost impossible to do anything significant with, since it takes so much time to switch back and forth.
Maybe I'm just not getting it, but the only useful thing I've been able to do with a second tower is put one (due to costs) slow charging item there, then defend that tower with the other one. It'd be nice if the AI could take over for uncontrolled towers, even if it wasn't that great at it.
Well, just to point out, after restarting, I walked back to the boss and beat it again (getting the XP again), and this time got out without it freezing, but I think the view is zoomed in farther than when I started.
Well, I was having fun until the game bugged after beating the second boss. The bright-light overlay never went away and from there I couldn't move, open the inventory screen, or do anything else really.
You know, this could have been fun, if you had to decipher the actionscript to figure out how to raise your score during each level... but there's only one level, with no time limit or anything else really.
One more thing. I notice it says auto-power increase with max cards fixed as of 1.07, but it only increases your first color, giving you no chance to change other colors. (There's a similar issue with your first color too. Sometimes you might not want it to be the color it picks for you.)
Nice, but buggy. The cards that effect everyone for one turn often last 5 or 6 turns, especially if played together with cards that effect everyone permanently. Also, the AI sometimes miss some really obvious moves, especially with the sniper bot (and probably with other unit abilities).
I just want to point out that this is not a rip off, since I made both games. I left the money system out for several reasons, which I don't want to take the time to list here.
