The sequel Starfighter: Infinity is probably going to be realeased at the end of this year or the beginning of next year. Unfortunately, no promises. :C Anyway, it's going to have almost ALL of the things ppl have wished for. :D
I just hope this gets into the top 5 comments so that ppl finally understand about the multiplayer. The multiplayer sectors got removed because hackers managed to hack into other people's accounts and delete them. And, it's not going to come back, so don't expect the multiplayer back. DJStatika (creator of this game) is making a sequel to this game and the game is going to be called Starfighter: Infinity (at least, that's the plan). For more information, use Google. Hey I have an idea for the Shaman Hard Mode not having spirit, we should be able to change to normal mode IMMEDEATLY after you uncheck that option. We should be able to do this only once in each map. I'm thinking that there should be a bonus appearing in the maps that were created by Mellibelule and Tigrounette, like the 'prezzies' during Christmas last year, only the bonuses should be something different, like bonus cheese that are added to our cheese without having to go to the hole.
White Holes push you away with slight force, and Black holes do the opposite with slight force too. If you touch even the edge of a white/black hole, shields drain at the rate of about 500/sec. A wormhole sucks you in, but does not harm you and if you reach its centre, you are hyperspaced to some random sector. And yes, try googling it next time you have any questions about Starfighter.

sirmason, there are many more planets in the Galaxy, not only the one you found. They do nothing. There are 32 planets and finding them (just for a challenge) is just one more of the many things you can do in the game. After you get 6401 kills, your galaxy map is upgraded, showing all black holes, white holes, wormholes and planets in the Galaxy.
Just... stop mentioning the hakcers. Yeah, hackers suck, they removed multiplayer, and this happened THREE YEARS AGO. What's the freaking use of complaining EVEN now?!?! Jeez! Stop complaining and crying and whining and "bring multiplayer back plus this up if you agree"ing.
