A fairly unremarkable game in a packed genre. I like the idea but the execution is uninteresting. The controls feel dodgy and that has nothing to do with the snow (btw why cant llamas jump on snow?). The wall running feels tacked on and is hardly worth mentioning. The game lags momentarily upon achievement pop up, fix that or get rid of it, most of my deaths came because of that. Game is incredibly easy.
I love this game but god I wish there was an undo button. So many times im like got this all lined up lets score some mega poin....dammit, backwards AGAIN. Out of curiosity is there a "be a total dick" function in there somewhere, because it seems like every game as Im trying to get the most out of the little space I have left and even win back the game I have open small area of opportunity and the one that I need is ALWAYS the next one in line behind the piece that has no space left to fit into and thus always lose the game before I can play it.
For those having trouble submitting their scores you may have to play through it a second time. Thats what I had to do for the challenge room score. BTW Challenge room is a lot of fun, reminded me of some sort of old school tony hawk game, you know back when those games were fun.
It would be nice if you could use the left and right arrows to scroll between the heroes. You also probably shouldn't be able to get money for selling items to the heroes, just seems odd to reward yourself for helping the heroes succeed. If the objective was to kill the heroes then getting money for powering up the heroes would be good but since its not it seems like a poor choice. Also it would be nice if when a hero died some kind of message told you that they died.
I like the concept and it is fun but the objective seemed confusing. I didnt understand what the purpose of the game was. I thought I was supposed to be killing the adventurers but i was getting resources for keeping them alive and the only way through the game was to fail at killing the adventurers. It also seemed kinda random that the adventurers could only go into floors two above their level, which is smart but it doesnt tell you that anywhere. I thought perhaps they were dying and it just wasn't telling me very well or something for a lot of the game before I figured it out. Dungeon crawl is kinda fun, playing through and exploiting the setup that you created that you watched the AI adventurers bounce between to collect the most stuff possible is a nice feature. I would love to see a mode where you could keep building farther than 15 floors, or a version where the objective is actually to kill the adventurers, or the addition of roaming monsters.
Yeah monster jumping gets to be the only way you can keep going after a while. I got to 489 and by the end as much as I tried to stay ahead of the monster i simply could not find a path through the garbage fast enough to stay ahead of it so i would continuously bounce off of it before punching a hole to land just to do it again because the monster has almost already carved a path to that exact block.
Man this game really isnt that hard to break. My combo is over 70 million and still going strong as it has all night. There is only one small corner that those turtles have to land perfectly in to stop. I foresee this going for a lot longer lol.
Why cant I kill Anna? She's clearly a zombie. She's always hung herself when I find her but when I walk over to her and press up she's magically fine. I think she's a more intelligent zombie thats trying to trick her way onto the ferry to infect everyone who thinks they're getting away.
This game is really fun and I would love to see a leaderboard for survival mode. There is some sort of bug in Survival mode when you have over 1000 gold when you collect different amounts of gold your current gold counter disappears or conversely reappears. This makes it very difficult to know if you've got enough gold to continue or not. It would be nice to see this fixed. It seems to happen when you pick up characters, some gold pickups and some enemy kills so i imagine it has either something to do with the amount of gold added for some reason or attributes on each pickup themselves.
Reminded me a lot of Portal. Journeying through numerous puzzles in a strange compound with a disembodied voice giving you questionable advice that often leads you or atleast tries to lead you into killing yourself. Very enjoyable. Not overly difficult for me but a good length. Doesnt feel too short but short enough that everything feels fresh the entire way through and no part ever gets stale. The ending was a little tricky but very rewarding once I made it. 5/5 for one of the most enjoyable flash games that I have played in a very long time.
I really wish these message games had games that actually game with them because Im getting tired of these games where you follow the steps so that the developer can bludgeon you over the head with their views. Movies have done that for years and I hate them for it. I play games so I don't have to put up with that crap. I'm disappointed that Kongregate supports these non-games. If you want to tell us something fine but be clever about it, no more slideshows.
Would you like a game to go with your statement? I would. Maybe next time. Unless we're considering holding down the spacebar to be a game in which case I should dig out my NES they had real games on there.
