strifa thanks for you comment ive dropped the size of the ship on the finished version about 25% (a bit less than that maybe)
i wont upload that version because im having trouble with a part of the code atm and its stopping everything from working.

when i name the ship instance ship (as per page 2) everything stops working my enemies stop appearing my ship wont move or shoot the only thing that works is the background. is this normal?
i got this problem with the ship as well and im not sure how i fixed it it just worked eventually. my problem is i keep getting an error message saying "the class 'background' needs to be defined in a file whose relative path is 'background.as'." anyone know how to fix this?
