Honestly this is way better than RPG-maker nonsense and should have won the July contest but I can see why it didn't. Simply because its a demo and seems like this was made for mobile and porting it over caused the scrolling issues. I can see why you would go for a mobile audience over a dying PC flash game market but honestly I don't think this would catch fire on mobile either with so many competing games that are completely free in entirety and while I really enjoy atmospheric theme in puzzles like this, I don't think it can compete with something like 100 doors for example. Not when theres no storyline, no aim and little to no challenge. Honestly I was bored by the end of the demo and done with the novelty of the nice music and graphics. Its a shame because I feel like this is a unrefined gem that could have been something rather than just a flash demo and another dime in a dozen mobile app game. Nevertheless would still rate high for encouragement.
Handling of the car is atrocious. Its so bad, I'm resorting to backpedalling to get around. Walk speed is really slow and a shame you can't shoot from the car. Music is cancer.
Lol did you even play test this? Why are you asking someone else about the glitches? Do you not notice immediately from the very first click that the whole game freezes every shot? Also the health bar is too huge, the blue van to the left at the start disappears on respawn. There is no continuation after getting that "item" and going back to the van. Bullets go through vans and some corners of the walls.
Honestly quite boring. Terrible music on loop, bad characterisation and graphics (seriously its just a man in green. Give him a shield and sword and he becomes a zombie knight). Gameplay doesn't feel very smooth or engaging as compared to like an 8-bit beat-em up which has smoother controls.
Needs an option to change the quality, game can get a little laggy and the walking speed is rather slow. Abit disappointing that I can't load again to see a different ending but I have to start a brand new game. Kinda of a chore to collect all the clues again.
Unfortunately, changing the quality wouldn't solve the lagging issue, because it depends on my extensive use of vector graphics (since I do the drawings and all).
I'll have to remember to rely more on bitmaps in the future.
As for the the loading problem, you're right about that, too. I'll have to fix this
Really fun game with cool art and music. However, the game ridiculously laggy and theres no option to turn down the quality. This is especially so when the enemies drop money which causes a huge lag spike when theres a lot of enemies spawning and dying. The whole gameplay from level 3 onwards because a lagfest where I'm just spamming roll to dodge bullets I can't even tell or not and just collecting the special pickups and spamming spacebar to clear the whole screen. Either set a quality option or remove the clunky money collection mechanic because I suspect thats what causing the major lag, especially after a screen wipeout and the game slightly freezes with glitchy white bars appearing when collecting the mass stacks of cash. Good effort.
Try Firefox and make sure that the game page loads fully. I get zero lag. Maybe try closing out some tabs? Check the youtube link in the instructions tab. It's footage of the last level being played on firefox. No lag! Hope you can have a more enjoyable experience. Oh and I think I got a fix for the gem/screen clutter :)
To be honest, 10 minutes into the game I was just spamming the ascend button and occasionally healing up and buying things. Not very engaging with no story whatsoever.
What a shitter, no proper ending or reward at the end after a massive grindfest map after map of the same shit and gameplay. Really robbed this game of any potential with the clunky move mechanics, UI, no replayability and random small bugs. Needed some bosses, more interesting skill trees, more variety in maps, items, mobs, secrets and a proper storyline or dialogue incorporated into the gameplay and not some cutscenes just because you walk into a new area. Absolutely random and does not immerse the player in the plot whatsoever. Extremely repetitive with an abrupt forced game ending. Zero replayability and made worse that I wouldn't even want to replay this again ever. 1/5
