Another take on this is that you strive for the girl's attention at the beginning so you use all your time to get her what she wants, to make her life better. As you gather more items you help her see more beautiful things in life but your initial slow and cheerful stride, becomes fast, rushed. You as a player, may see the world in beauty but never stop to appreciate it, you have to strive to gather the attention of the girl. You go faster and faster, and you realize that you're fading away, that you're losing yourself and lose a grip on who you are quite literally. By the end you've helped the girl blossom, but at the price of your own livelihood, as you fade away from her existence. The moral from this perspective being, yes you can make a girl the happiest in the world, but you may lose yourself in the process. And if you're not around to appreciate the world and be happy too, you have to really ask yourself if it was worth it?
reasons i love this game 1) its not boring 2) i'm actually smart enough how to work around a simple bug 3) i realized that every level has tanks, but wait the map is different?!? oh my gosh looks like the game changes each level, silly me, and if there were no badges for this I wouldn't see any of this crap
