Interesting idea, you could expand on this in lots of ways. There is no penalty for getting one wrong. Also, I can take my time once I grab a gem, so the speed doesn't make solving it harder.
Thanks for the feedback! I had a couple ideas for penalties, but none of them were great. As for the second point you made, I had never considered that! Perhaps gems could "degrade" while held, with degrade time tied to gem speed.
I love the idea of this game, but its like a combat game that replaces the logistics of supplying bullets and food with breeding. 3/5 It needs 1) A breeding area that you can defend separately 2) A way to define a breeding program 3) A way to command multiple fighting units. It is too tedious (and frantic) to tell each unit when to spawn and where too fight in real time. The breeding strategy gets completely lost.
Tips: Turn off action cam in options. When you get hit it ignores commands but stores them for afterward when you want to do something else. Very lame.
@CatFace, the dart towers can attack only ground creeps, but the pellet towers can attack both ground and air creeps. Perhaps the ground creeps were out of range of the pellet towers?
I love it! One *serious problem though. After I die and press enter/space it freezes in the initial positions, ignoring all input. I have to give focus to something else and come back for it to start - immediately. So one hand is on the mouse or alt-tab when action starts. I can't play it this way! :(
Excellent tutorial! When I created my scene and set it to 640x480 it set the tile grid to 20x12. I set it to 20x15 but only 12 are visible when I test my game.
Are you sure you did 640x480 and not 640x384? The 384 is the default. If that is the case, then your extra 3 tiles aren't showing since they are off screen (still there just not visible).
