this series has never been any good, I do not know why it gets such good ratings for such a dry and tedious game. One of the most disappointing games to get badges on this site. 1/5, for a third time.
Finally got three stars on Jungle Brook, hope I never see this monumental waste of time again. it's based on about 2% intellect and 98% luck wish i could have gotten that time back i wasted doing something more productive like watching paint dry.
god damn it! i was at -14 on the final two holes of jungle brook, got a +5 and +4 because thi shit ass game gave me some shitty draws. 1/5, this game blows.
The socring sytem on this game really needs to be redone. I had to back track through the leel trying to find blocks i didn't quarantine because they were so obviously boobytrapped to flag to try and get 500 points instead of ending the game. i got trapped in a tiny ass area with 2 wolves and a bunny and ended up with 471 god damn points instead.finishing a level should reward some points, as should doing it in a timely manner!
time needs to add into the score. so does left over specials. also, you should START with at least one power-up, preferably a shotgun. other than that, good take on an old game. 5/5.
Did anyone else find the final bosses weakness too easy to abuse?I not only beat him with my bare fists, but didn't lose any lives at the same time, on my second try... as soon as he tries to shoot at you, you gotta run at him and jump over him and punch him in the back, and if you stun him enough, you can get up to about 15 punhes off before he moves away and tries the same exact thing again... Good game nontheless, good programing music, artwork, level layouts, weapon variety, leveling system, all around good game. 5/5.
Acutally, even an auto fire option or an auto aim, or even an option to control your movement via mouse and have it shoot would be helpful, but as the way controls are right now, it's too hard to try and manuver with a touch pad.
Auto aim would be nice for those of us who are using mousepads... I don't have enough hands to efficently use the mousepad and aim and shoot and move the tank at the same time...
Ugh, why would he make a sequel, when this one is perfectly fine? make adjustments to this game, even though it will probably met you less money in the long run. I mean he never really made anything thing helpful unless you REALLY liked the weapon packs. just disappoiting that he's this money greedy that he thinks it's simpler to just remake a new game to make people pay more for a diffferent version of the same thing, not too different from Activision making no changes to all the shit wrong with MW2, just making MW3 (MW2.5 more or less)
Few suggestions for a sequel: 1) New different looking maps. Was kinda disappointed that all of the maps were identical, perhaps you could also put some obstacles that do damage as well to both firends and foe (volcanoes, whirlpools, large waves, Storms, Rocks, sandbars, etc) 2) Opton for friendly AIs that are upgradeable. Having my own gang of pirates would be nice when fighting 10 other pirates and the navy at the same time. 3) Friendly fire. annoying tht ais can shoot through each other and do damage only to me, even if they are navy and pirates. 4) upgradable turning radius. half the time i was playing i felt having a sharper turning radius helped more than speed. and 5) more difficult sub bosses. the final boss was annoying as shit, but all the other little ships you fought weren't shit. perhaps make the navy officers have smaller faster ships or larger stronger ships with multiple attacks? overall good game, just redundant.
For those of you confused about the differences between the bombs: the more exspensive the bomb, the larger the pieces of ore it'll dig up. the $5000 nuke will bring u some ore that's up to about .50 t, while the largest ore you can get with the 75$ one is like .1.
How are people bitching abou he difficult of the game? I had no problems with diffculty, and beat every boss with the first character on the first try. Just upgrade the farms and metal industries (Wood is almost useless, it was at 999 on my last mission.) If you simply use a good balance of long range attackers to hit the castle while foot soldiers and calvary stand in the front and absorb all the damage, it's almost impossbile to lose, especially if you use your magic attacks.
You could easily make this game better by making a campaign for it or making larger more difficult levels and different types of ships (perhaps trade out the boost for shields on one, give one a lot less health but a lot more handling or vice versa)
