The controls are very unforgiving - I needed several tries until I got the food and bowl to combine, for example. This often makes me give up on procedures that I should be doing.
And even with the walkthrough, I'm stuck: "Click on firefly. Use wrench on the tap." What tap? There isn't one.
Overall, the graphics, story and motivation are nicely done, but I wish teh game was more responsive in rewarding wrong attempts with hints to correct solutions.
Kyudos, once you have solved every level, you can open any door and replay what you want. The signs above the doors show which levels still have keys you need to get.
I'd love for this game to have randomly generated levels. Maybe it has them - I stopped playing when the covered tiles were too many. They are obstructing the gameplay, not making it more difficult! They annoy and detract from the pleasure.
The game should have its colors openly available. To make it difficult, some plates might be "wild cards", having no color of their own, but rather taking on the average of the plates they're placed between. Then, color sense would be needed to determine where in a sequence the wild card needs to be placed. That would be a difficulty and not an obstruction.
I like that I don't have to max out all the skills to win the game - there's an element of tactics in choosing which ones to take. I had 11 brilliant levels at level 12 and all 15 by level 24; I didn't feel there was much grind as I usually lose levels by being dumb. Compare this to Bloons TD 5, which you have to grind to be even allowed to max out your towers!
I find Cursed Treasure very enjoyable, and the level pack was challenging. Send me a message if you managed to get all brilliant with a character level under 20!
Monetization and Grind come to Tower Defense Games! Woohoo! (not)
Also, it lies: either the blimps in the "MOAB Madness" special mission aren't MOABs, or the MOAB assassin doesn't live up to its name.
I like this game. It is short enough to replay at leisure if you "get stuck" on your upgrade path; I only noticed that I'd better reduce the number of clicks as much as I could if I could still defeat the Boss after my third province and still managed to win (with some defeats) on normal. Getting all companions seemed to help.
I found these "impossible" to do: level 20 with balloon (because it is so slow and doesn't fit the nook), level 48 with Jouster and SAM (because bombing sailors onto the platform means bombing others off), and level 51 with Zorb (because I can't get the hang of getting up the vertical receding wall from within the recess). I could probably do them if I spent wayy to much time on each to practise. :-P
L20 with the balloon is covered in a new video I just put on youtube demoing some of the harder bits of the game. It's all about bouncing in just the right places to preserve your speed:

Yeah, looking at the high score table, it's a bit empty (for today and this week) given everyone is playing this today. Something is broken on the server end.
The gameplay mechanic is original and enticing, the puzzles are beautifully rendered, the interface is clunky. I want to drag objects along their paths, with the synchronized objects moving as I do so, and not use a keyboard interface from decades ago.
I can't find the level selection screen, if there is one. I'd like to have an overview how many levels there are and how I'm doing, and be able to replay levels.
This game makes me think outside the box: the solutions usually require an indirect approach - and often one that is different than the one you used before!
SPOILER ALERT!
The last level I needed for the Whirlybird badge was 12 (Strange Loops), which I did with the Tardis: it has speed, manouverability, and enough strength to bounce off the walls for quicker reversals. (I would have liked to do it with the Zorb, but the speed wasn't there.) The next-to-last level was 25 ("Rotatey-Thing Factory"), which stumped me until I figured out a trick with the Jouster to get the flag quickly and perfectly.
