Heh - yeah. I was looking into what it would take to get achievements too! Apparently those are only handled by Kongregate themselves. Regardless - thanks for the play! Totally appreciate it! Best, -Tim
This is quite an interesting game. It's less about the shooting and more about setting up the right kind of ricochet shots, so don't expect rapidfire gun action. It's more like setting up tricky pool shots, except with less green cloth and more blood. You need to think tactically to do the levels and solve the missions.
That said, I'd have liked to be able to choose my upgrade levels - sometimes I'd like to see less ricochets than I bought, for example. I was looking for a "no blood" setting as well.
Do some of the challenges (Burrito Geek, Learn To Glide) depend on special hitter stats? For Burrito Geek, I suspect the first column, Creep Magnet and Greasy Stuntman? And for learn to Glide, much the same except for greasy stuntman? If that*'s the case, there's no point in doing those before I have grinded (ground?) up to the best weapon.
On Kongregate, you're competing with "Hanna in Choppa" in terms of control and gameplay, and you're not even close. (I don't know how HiaC works on mobile, though.) What kind of storyline you package your game in doesn't matter so much, but your levels don't seem very complex (I played up to level 21). There are numerous smaller gameplay issues as well. As a hardcore PC gamer, I'm not impressed. It takes more to do a successful "Choplifter" sequel.
I, too, find teh shooting physics disconcerting: because the ball is already moving, I expect its flight to be skewed sideways, and consequently I always fire early. I don't really see why the mechanic is there at all except to annoy the player: if we could control the rotation by moving the mouse, this would actually be more of a puzzle game and less of a "twitch" game, and then the balls would be stopped when firing and thus fly straight. Would you consider adding a second game mode that does this?
13/15 notes, no clue what the right place for the plushie is, but apparently I picked well since I did get a newspaper ending that mentioned it. The one thing I needed the walkthrough for was to find the red thread hanging in the tree in the mist. Other than that, this was a very delightful adventure.
"Lorgnette" is actually field glasses. "Note" is actually a clef. "Rollers" is only one. The "spring" looks nothing like any spring I know. The "tube" looks like joint - what kind of tube is it supposed to be? Ugh.
Fun little athmospheric adventure with great art. I got through ok, though I don't understand why I can't water the plant or use the old letters to write on.
This game is buggy - twice already I have paid for stuff that I didn't get, and the live support that the instructions mention has been discontinued for over a month (presumably because they couldn't cope with the number of requests since this game got badged?).
Go make some levels - both for tutorial purposes (what is a "free" tile) as well as giving players successes on their learning curve. Start with a level with two free tiles (a strip and a square) and take it from there. IN rlax, you did this better. Also, consider removing the timer, and instead awarding 1-3 stars for beating certain times, with perhaps a number of stars required to unlock more levels. That way, players can actually complete each level, butare motivated to get better anyway.
Levels is a good Idea for the build up of the Game. 10 seconds per level, and make the levels harder and harder. I was a little short on time for the contest and concentrated on 1 level. The theme was "10 Seconds".
Very unusual and awesome artwork, definitely zoom in if you can! This game is also great as an adventure, with nicely logical puzzles. I'm waiting for the sequel!
