I really want to like this game more. I gave it ample times, but it's simply unfair. Other games tend to have a breather room every few floors. This game could really use something like that. This game is just too hard to be fun. It's way too random that one step and BAM! you're basically dead. I seriously ran 30+ games and I can only get to the fire area at best. The fire bats aggro right away and swarm you! How am I supposed to get past that? The slimes are a nightmare to deal with. Starting on a new floor full of monsters is a joke. Stepping on a random square to be teleported in the middle of an enemy camp or ambushed is a unfair. Also, the rogue spell to make monsters forget you doesn't seem to work. I play Necromancer and invested in sneak specifically for that spell. Didn't do anything at all.
I really liked this! The backgrounds were really done and it's a great adventure game for kids, albeit the crowbar being hard to find and the usage of the kiwi/banana/lava.
This could be a really fun game if 1) both upgrades were given after each level 2) the range for weapons was increased (since you have to get in bosses faces to beat them) 3) More strategy in boss fights since you can'tr really avoid anything 4) Better weapons...I use cannons as shields for my lasers, engineer upgrades are a joke.
A really beautiful and fun game. One critique I have is that the tiny, blurred window really starts to strain the eyes after a while. It's a really cool effect, I just think it should have been used a bit less.
I really enjoyed this game. Wish it was a little harder as the enemies were like zero threat. Only the first and last boss proved any difficulty. Still, very fun!
Was really enjoying the game until the really annoying wall jump segment. You know which one I'm talking about. Games that do that really irk me...making you start all the way from the bottom if you fall. It's not fun..it's just cheap.
This game has so much going for it, but there are so many things that really pull it down:
Missions/Quest do not give enough gold. Result: Grinding the same stage 3+ just to make you run *slightly* faster.
Speed Upgrades seem to be very low.
Final Boss: Too many spawns, way too difficult even with max runes/upgrades.
Battle: The AI is awful. Heroes get lot easily in battle. Really needs some sort of light/aura to indicate position.
Awesome concept with some fatal flaws in my opinion. First, controls are complicated. I can manage moving around/shooting/switching target just fine but trying to tilt shooting while managing everything onscreen is too hard.
Second, the text is so small. I had to use the magnify on my mouse just to read the workshop descriptions. I purchased a mine that never showed up as a weapon...pretty annoying. The second boss is way to hard and I shouldn't have to grind 10+ times just to beat it.
THe lack of control over the main character RUINS this game. A similar game called Paroxysm found on the Daily Click website is an example of how to do this type of game.
Actually, these names are from my scandinavian names list :)
