Good idea but it doesn't work quite right, seems to be some lag between the input and the repsonse from the game... isn't my internet and it isn't my computer. Nor is it my sense of rhythm.
I had trouble with the next generation rockets challenge. To beat it, use a shedload of scouts to start with to clear the way to the mothership and destroy the cannon. Then just spam drones... upgrade the $ accordingly for speed/ damage. Remember the only kind of ship that can do damage to either mothership is a drone.
Decent game, but it's got problems. The biggest is the lack of a mute button. Also, if you pick up a new weapon or find the keys etc the whole screen gets taken over for a few seconds... this is pretty annoying, partly because of the interrupted gameplay and partly because you usually get hit by the zombies if you're close when you get the item-- why not just have a flashing message across the screen while you carry on playing? Auto weapon switch when you pick up a new one? No thanks, I'll choose my own weapon.
The game doesn't last long enough and the cutscenes are boring.
However, the weapons are cool and it's a challenge keeping alive in some parts... even so the cons far outweigh the pros.
It's not bad but I don't want to have to wait until I crash a couple of times or refresh to start again, so put a restart/quit option in the pause menu. The points penalty for using pause is pointless because at high speeds the high scroll rate renders cheating by using pause to see where you're gonna go next more of a hindrance than a help. As people have said, instructions each time are annoying... it's not like the game even needs instructions. It's a reasonable game but it quickly gets annoying.
Bad first: needs hotkeys and there's no respec option. The good: the inital goal to get all missons done is just as absorbing as trying to get brilliant ratings so the game lasts well. Up there with other good TD games like Vector TD, Protector 1-3 and TSG.
To the writer: use an apostrophe (') in an abbreviation such as "it's", short for "it is", and not in a plural or possessive context. For example "only the cunning mind of a thief can understand its strange, shifting rooms".
This is not a prompt for a session of grammatical one-upmanship.
Mission 9 is damn hard. Completed it by doing this: Mine as much as possible all of the time and build up a central core of defence where you start with only the bare minimum of pulsers to defend the outlying mines. Once the mines are used up, recycle them, the pulsers and the relays ASAP and continue to build up the centre. Have a couple of fully upgraded missile turrets and a mix of THELs and pulsers in the middle with enough power stations + ammo. Works a treat.
Seems like a mix between Thing Thing and Metal Slug. It's a good game, very absorbing and addictive but falls down on a couple of points. It's too easy by far because the levels aren't challenging/ long enough, and because lack of a learning curve due to the familiarity of the controls. The other point, and the biggest problem by far is the premium content. It is not possible to unlock the best weapons without paying. The whole idea of games is that one should be rewarded for dedication and skill, not for having a big wallet or a brain small enough to use it-- there's no need for the top-end premium weapons. The first and second premium weapons which you can access for free are more than enough.
Good effort though...
