I like this, the scoring is a bit strange and the hand ranks are mixed up but it is still a fun game. Might be good to add some instructions for those that don't know poker hands.
Thanks for bringing that up. The scoring for the hands is based on how difficult it is to form the hands in Poker Squares rather than regular Poker; flushes for example are easier to set up in Poker Squares than threes of a kind or straights, so they are scored lower even though they beat those hands in regular poker. There is a system (sometimes called the American system) which scores the hands based on strength in regular poker, but it seems a bit strange to me to award greater scores to easier feats, so I implemented the so-called British system. There's a pretty good Wikipedia article on Poker Hands that has more details.
Thanks again for the comment. I could have made it clearer; poker buffs might understandably be peeved about something like that should the reason not be made explicit.
Well, I'd rather use the mouse to aim and shoot live targets than try to avoid enemy sensors in a hover tank that doesn't hover with inconsistent controls while trying to somehow shoot stationed targets.
I wish the level of the game play matched the level of the artwork. The jump height is too low, attack range too short and no health pickups or fill ups on new stages. There is no incentive to fight sausages since they don't drop coins. Also no save points or save games to actually get through the game. Ahhwll
This looks pretty nice but the controls make it unplayable for me. The direction controls are confusing split between wasd and arrow keys (turning left right and nose up/down should be with WASD or with the arrow keys)
I would add a button to zoom out the camera to see a large portion of the surroundings, it would make it easier to get an idea where you are, but to balance that you could make the movement of the bad portals faster. Then you could add the ability to speed up the player with upgrades as they progress through the levels.
Wow, this isn't what I expected for this series. First Problem: The hotkeys are gone! EW3 had a good hotkey setup that made commanding units/casting spells easy. Second Problem: The heros suck! Instead of one epic hero, you get to add 3 fail heros??? ok then. Third Problem: No Difficulty settings! I don't want to spend all day on the first level, make an easy setting for those who want quick battles!
