no, you don't have to. it's optional. it's a map of what you built that you can play in minecraft.
check the map? you beat city state? i dont know whats going on
you should see a map in the lower-left corner of the game and there should be a blinking sign on the map. click it and go to the next location. if you don't see the map, it is most likely hidden. go into settings, click on the layout tab (currently, the fourth tab) and make sure "Hide Grinds when Automated" is unchecked. you should see the map on the left side of the game. it could have gotten collapsed. just click the expand button to see the full map.
