Okay, to all you goddamn retards out there killing in a ****ing NO KILL GAME that it says IN THE GODDAMN TITLE, just, seriously, stop. Killing in a no kill area either means you're a noob who can't kill people who fight back, or a retard who can't read the goddamn title. I am getting sick and tired of lecturing random guys who just pop in, pick up a shotgun, and start killing everyone for no ****ing reason. Just, please, stop.
Would be a lot better if you kept your frickin' weapons and armor when you used the escape wings. I had a Katana, Silver Legs, and a full inventory, when I was about to die and used escape wings. I started out the game again with a knife, cloth shirt, and weathered work pants. It's hard to get any farther if your only new advantage is the ability to see the enemy's fire resistance. 1/5.
@flamewolf: You realize there IS an AI editor, right? If you just spend two minutes actually figuring things out instead of complaining for no reason at all, you might notice things like that more often. For god's sake, at least try to make a good AI to your liking before downrating.
Beating Loki without Excalibur: Firstly, fight him a few times with Heimdall, if you want. Get the hang of dodging his shots. If you start lasting more than 1 minute, you're in good shape. Now switch your core to Odin and get RL-X "Arjuna's Bow". This weapon has so-so fire rate and no spread, but it does 600 damage per projectile. Odin has Healing and a good Berserk attack, so it's a good choice. Now that you're actually trying to fire at Loki, remember: Your auto-lock is sufficient. Don't fiddle with the offset. Doing so will most likely just kill you while you're distracted. Staying alive is worth more than a bit of extra accuracy. Remember to circle around, and always, ALWAYS use an overdrive when you get one, UNLESS you are at full health.Keep trying with this strategy and you will eventually succeed!
Bleah, infinitely worse than the original. It was either the courses had ridiculous unavoidable and random instant death attacks, or the enemies did. The course design was really pitiful too. Trampoline right next to a bottomless pit? Really? 1/5.
My recommendations for 'primary' and 'secondary' towers:
Your primary (or main) den is one of the hardest to do. If there are lots of enemies in this map, choose the Ballista Den, as despite its slowness, it will hit large groups very well. If not, choose the Hunter Den (or whatever it's called)
Your primary Crypt should definitely be the Chilling Crypt, as its offensive abilities are much more valuable than mana regeneration. Build the Ghost Crypt once you have the Chilling Crypt.
As interesting as the Evileye Temple may be, it should be your secondary. The Blazing Temple is slow but powerful and has a wide range, and is very good even without much support. If you have already built a Blazing Temple, the Evileye Temple is a very good support tower. Just make sure to place the Evileye either near the beginning of the map or near your cave, to maximize its effectiveness.
As a response to Guplin, only fighters can become snipers (correct me if I'm wrong) and only snipers can become the Ghost Sniper, with its awesome temporary invincibility ability. And pretty much all of the later fighter upgrades can kill anything REALLY fast.
jvalentino, are we thinking of the same Cave Story? That platformer-shooter with the floating island and the toaster robot? With the awesome story and no puzzle elements whatsoever? And a bunch of guns which don't even slightly resemble anything in this game? That one?
I see a very huge potential for a sequel in which environments can be altered by things like sliding blocks or other manipulatable objects. It's a great game as is though. I love how no to levels are really the same, and the simple graphical style really matches the gameplay. 5/5.
If another sequel is made, there should be puzzles (Sliding block puzzles, cat flight mazes, etc.) or things that alter the environment (levers, buttons, etc.). And a water or liquid for swimming through would be really neat!
Harder but just as lovable as the first. Executed incredibly well. Has anyone else noticed how the songs in here are all remixes of the first area's theme in the first game? Every single song in the series so far has either been the first area's theme or a remix of it! I find that to be quite neat. 5/5.
Incredible. The concept for the story is simple, but is presented so well... The actual gameplay is well-balanced and has a suitable difficulty curve. This is probably the only shooter flash game that I have ever seen that had an excellent storyline. A PERFECT 5/5.
My recommendation after you have unlocked the monkey aces: Spam fully upgraded monkey aces all over the battlefield. They don't have to even be in different positions, if you just have lots and lots of them you can be sure not to miss any bloon.
