After a while battles become utterly trivial, I ended up one-shotting everthing with the big rampage spinning sword, to the extent I never used most of the spells. Just hit one button. Quite fun for a while though. TIP:For buildings, only ever bother with catapults and the compulsary seaports. The sieges are all easy with normal grunts, catapults and the dragon anyway (only try to hit the castle, ignore your own troops or his defences). This way you should have 10-12 buliding spaces free when you get the shrine ability. Turn everything you can into shrines and even your non-critical standard attack will kill bosses within the first 3 turns, requiring no effort or even acknowledgement of the enemy.
Just started playing - still on the beach but already I can tell it is excellent. It flows, it looks cool, the controls make a great deal of sense. I am impressed already and the developer should look forward to getting a bunch of badges for this.
Oh yes - tip for the boss. Go into the top corner and just punch the guy with the power glove. Have the Bio skill to grab energy by killing the other dudes if you need more energy, but generally it's easier to simply stick him in a corner and beat him up. The guns are a waste of effort.
Excellent work yet again, Nerdook. 5/5 as per usual. Something peculiar is that Overgrind mode is incredibly easy, despite the stronger baddies. The crit bonuses, backstabber and the power glove render every other weapon obselete (unless you are on a stealth mission). I never used a single gun after completing L12 and was able to get the glove. Most things are one-shot kills, even the assault mechs. Also, every bit of damage is utterly trivial, the only hits you'll notice are the pus burst from the slime mutants after you inevitbaly wade in and punch them. These aren't complaints, it's just amusing. :)
Five stars for the Metal Machine Music reference aloone, and very funny throughout.
Tinest gripe - could not get the final acheivement becuase no matter what I clicked, it would not accept I'd visited the developer's site. Minor thing.
Great fun game. With a fully upgraded base, it is possible to win the game (with an okay rank) without ever moving your tank, or shootaing a single shot from it. The tank (literally) tanks, taking the heaftier damage, and the base towers do the rest. I only once went below 3000 hp as well. You have to have all the upgrades to do this extreme lazy mode though.
Love this game. Completed it twice, once 100% in 4 1/2 hours. So tough at times. The car grab above the park - hard. The cats and coins in the night streets. But... deleting the whores from the internet history. BRUTAL (especially as I had to do them twice). 5 Stars. On the other hand, if you just want the medium badge for 15 points I got the worst ending in 23 minutes. His conversation choices are hilarious(i want to go toilet) laugh out loud stuff.
Possibly the very best game on Kongregate. I will be contributing to Pseudolonewolf. Well done indeed. There's a great deal in this huge game, and some of it is very tough (the car above the park was brutal). ***** Also, perhaps it's because I'm also an English vulgarian but the humour was right up my alley (ooer). Brilliant.
Use Paladin/.Mage. easy.
won on
level 9
NO Potions in whole game
NO simple attack used after level 4 (aside from on the totems) -the only reason I bought the level 4 weapons was for the slight magic damage bonus
NO Llama gambling.
a. Paladin – Wisdom Aura
b. Mage – Most powerful AOE (ideally destruction)
c. Paladin – Holy Quake
Never bother using anything weaker, you’ll never use your mana up anyway. When the chaos meter loads, use the mage’s banish if you want, don’t bother with the Paladin’s power. The only variation to this is that occasionally you may want to use the Paladin’s heal, but even then, the Mage’s life steal will probably suffice for him.
This will work for EVERY mob.
Princess and fat elf: Kill her as soon as possible, then hit fatso. Use the Paladin as a healer while the mage whales on the fat man. He’ll probably ki.ll the mage a couple of times, but that’s why you have the paladin, isn’t it.
