Between the randomness of the cooking and recipe unlocks, and the rapid increase to cost of cooking, it's really easy to get into a state where sheer RNG makes it impossible to come close to earning as much as in previous save states. Which is problematic when considering resetting, because you can't tell if your current state is good or not for a given prestige level.
I'm also hitting a major wall around 150 points. I'm 4 hours into a run on one of my better restaurants, and I've only gained 4 prestige points. At that rate, it'll take a week or so just to get to 300.
All in all, I'm enjoying it. I just think it could use a few balancing tweaks in the midgame.
You are right to post, 4 PP in for 4 hours at that stage is too low. While the main strategy of the game is revolved around RNG management (like in rogue-likes), at the later stages of he game the main part of improvement is cooking for coupons. The more you cook, the more RNG evens out, so it usually gives pretty consistent results. Edit: I'm writing a small guide for that part of the game and preparing some balance changes.
I'm impressed with the consistent improvements with the updates. If I could make a suggestion: the autobuyers currently prioritize the highest level of prestige. I'd find it useful to have an option to prioritize the lowest.
I click on New Game, and it pops up a screen about the thieves (which does stink, my sympathy). I click anywhere to close, and . . . it goes back to the main menu. I click New Game again, repeat. Is there something I'm missing?
Hi, we're sorry this is causing problems to a few of you and we will try to implement a less invasive security check. It happen rarely when the game isn't able to estabilish a connection with the kongregate API (maybe for a temporary connection problem). You can try to reload the game later. If you keep having problem to play try to send us a PM. :)
I'm saving now in 2 places (unity prefs and browser sotorage). On my mind is just one thing - your browser clears cache all the time, but it could be different problem.
Loved the game. Good concept with the various ways to specialize your stars. Being able to change your specializations was a great bit, and it affected my strategy a lot. Patience is necessary, which I consider a good thing. Overall a very well-done game. 5/5
Yeah, I just know too well how frustrating it feels when devs abandon the game you like, so trying to not be like that. :)
