hm, health spawned in the first few levels when i didnt need it, but from lvl 18 on i had only 1 healthbar left, and until lvl 25, where i died, the game didnt spawn health. wtf?
also, item-collection sucks hard - you should make the ship have a gravity-field around it so you dont have to exactly fly over the items.

freaking hard. why do you have to pick up the lives??? its hard enough to dodge all the lasers and grenaded and stuff. when there are 2 or more ships on the screen, its often impossible to get the falling heart, because the enemy-fire is all around. maaan.
