I think this is a really well-done game. Yes, it's easy if you're a tower defense buff... but the theme is casual and looks designed for younger children, and the difficulty is consistent with this. It is quite possible to lose a few balloons here and there, but basically any strategy that some basic thought is put into will work, and, in this case I think that's great. 4/5.
The author of this game has the potential to be a great game designer, I think. So this post is intended to be constructive, taken in light of the above statement.
A course on optimization is an absolute must. My computer isn't elite, but it runs half-life: episode two on medium spec at ~42fps. This game, on low quality: 12 fps. This is not a question of system resources, but programming flaws and lack of optimization.
The author of this game is talented enough for it to be worth taking a course in this area, and learning to make the game's performance degrade gracefully. This game could look twice as good while running 10x as fast.
That aside, I like the game design now. The learning curve is much friendlier to a first time player, while still offering plenty of difficulty to stay challenging even in casual mode. The changes are such a holistic improvement I felt like we moved from alpha to 1.0 , so I will give this version the most improved award and change my rating to 4/5.
good idea really, really poor execution. Physics felt funny and so I did some testing. They are not only way off but inconsistent. seven out of 20 times, the side of the scale with less total weight was lower @@.
so.... 1/5. total failure. back to the drawing. or maybe I should say... to the drawing board for the first time...
Too bad the excellent graphic art is wasted on this dumb looking chick. Everything is too small. The gameplay is totally basic, boring, repetitive. I would rail against the game design if there were any...
the advice given may be good for quickly getting the badge, but the game is very boring that way. It's much more entertaining with friendly fire and collision on (so you can't just rocket your way through which makes entire screen explode). just a heads up :)
Here is a mini-guide to beating the 100. http://www.handdrawngames.com/forum/index.php?topic=2599.0
(if you even come close to beating it you will surpass 12,000).
