I love the concept of this game, but the execution is just pure frustration. The description made me think I'd be sending in the bad guys, choosing which ones and when, but this is just controlling one (or two) on the screen. Most levels have no creative solutions, you just have to be in the right place at the right time... trial and error after error until you find that one spot. :(
I would love to be able to post in the City Trade items I'm looking for so that other people in my city could post them for me even if we aren't online at the same time.
Sometimes the paddle turns white, but I've never seen any white balls appear. Catching other colors sometimes hurts my health, but other times appears to be the right ball to catch. Some instructions and explanation would be nice.
Also, I have scroll bars on the bottom and left of the window, so the entire view of the game moves as I press the arrow keys (might just be my browser).
Pretty standard play experience for the genre. Enjoyed it enough to play all the way through. After beating the final level, though, it clicks through to the levels again and the final level still appears unbeaten. A minor issue.
The laser is WAY overpowered. It was the first thing I bought after level 1. Never again did any enemy survive, and most of them never got the chance to shoot at all.
The pop up window asking if I'm still playing is so very stupid. By design, this game requires long periods of inactivity while stuff just builds. It makes an otherwise fun game incredibly bothersome to try to play for any length of time.
Meh... I like the game concept, but kinda clunky execution. Doesn't seem to be any way to pause the game. Hitting menu takes you out to the map (that's not a menu) and loses any progress on the level.
Neat concept, okay game. Bridges are pretty much Always very weak. The steel walkways and connectors can reach farther, and I'm assuming they're a little stronger, but they seem to be too heavy to support themselves.
It's frustrating to build a bridge that I know has good design only to see it splinter like balsa wood. Most of the time, it ends up feeling more like luck that a bridge holds than actual good design.
There isn't any way to go back to the menu in the middle of a game. The money returned for destroying a turret doesn't go up if the turret has been upgraded. After the first play through, the waves start immediately before anything can be built. I like tower defense games, but this leaves a LOT to be desired.
To get through this game, you have to click things at random until you click the right things in the right order. There is very little logic or actual puzzle solving involved. Some of the animations are cute, but overall it's just confusing and frustrating.
Took me a while to figure out that you have to press down on the Tutorial pillar in order to get anywhere. That could be made a lot more clear. A pretty direct mario rip-off in concept, not very well executed.
Very cool premise, moderate execution. Menu navigation is cumbersome: if you fail a mission, your only options are Try Again or Strategy Guide (which opens a new window). Can't actually go back to the main menu unless you choose Try Again, then actually start the mission, then pause and choose from the list of option on the pause screen. Also, needs a way to "respec" spent upgrade points. Found myself at one point where I really needed upgraded swords, but since I didn't know that before hand and hadn't chosen them, I had to start a new mission from the beginning.
