I wish the stats were better explained, for example, Wisdom, what the heck does that even do?! I wish it was more like GemCraft where it tells you exactly what every skill does.
btw, has anyone gotten better than tier 5?
I enjoyed playing this game, but I'm having a hard time rating it. It's not very original (borrows ideas from GemCraft 0) and it's rather buggy (displays "You've unlocked..." multiple times, when you retry after dying the special modes don't work, but you still get experience for it, and it runs slowly at times). I do very much like the humor involved though, and the different power ups are pretty cool. It seems well-balanced, which I find to be the most important aspect of a good challenging strategy game. I would rate this 4 stars except that the bugs annoy me so much, so I'm going to have to say 3 until it's updated.
Hello fellow kongregater,
I'm sorry about the dumb blue screen at the beginning of the game. I couldn't figure out how to make a preloader. If you have submitted a game to Kongregate with a properly functioning preloader, I would VERY much appreciate your help.
Thank you!
I hope you enjoy Bangarang.

I LOVE the game concept! :D
I think it was a good idea not letting the player kill the guards--it would have been to easy otherwise.
Also, great special abilities, and you kept it simple, which was another plus.
I think the only thing I would consider changing is making the guards smarter. They can be chasing you, but if you go invisible, they suddenly "forget" where you are, and just walk away. Also, I might consider giving the guards a "memory", so that when they see the player turn off somewhere, they follow them, rather than just running around randomly.
Great game! 4 stars!
I've heard talk of player 2's controls not working, but haven't had any trouble on my mac, so if you experience difficulties with player 2's controls, first, please make sure your "focus" is in the game (click anywhere in the game to put your focus in the game), then try using player 2's controls again. If the problem persists, please let me know what computer you are using, and what internet browsing program you are using. Thanks! I hope you enjoy Bang-a-rang!!! :)
Thanks for your great comments guys!!! And thanks for being gracious with me, as this is my first game. :)
Yes, in the next Bang-a-rang (I'm thinking about calling it "Bang-a-rang: Strategy") I plan on having a shop between levels, where you can upgrade your ship on different upgrade paths (like in "Bubble Tanks", awesome game). Also, the power ups will be stored instead of used automatically (if you pick up a nuke, it won't get used 'til you want to use it - same with the other power ups). Thanks for playing!!! Keep up the great comments!
I would like it more if:
-The pieces snapped into place
-The music didn't stop (it needs to loop)
-It checked if you solved a puzzle
-It saved which puzzles you've solved
-Had unlockable puzzles
Yes, definitely not a stopping point, by any means. And yes, it does get slow, and I believe it is because I do not yet know how to properly create artwork. Maybe I should convert everything to bitmaps. Thanks for your comment!
Cool game, good music, good game concept, but - easy enough for my grandma to beat. :\ Adding difficulty, or maybe just another difficulty option would make this game much better.
