I beat Hat Wizard Christmas in 2019 and Hat Wizard 2 in 2020. I think that Hat Wizard has never been BOTD, so I never played it before. Unless I missed it. But many games keep appearing in BOTD multiple times through the years. There's no way I missed it 6 years in a row.
Without being able to throw your hat in mid-air, the challenge level becomes a lot more challenging. The last enemy is annoying with the timing of the platforms changing.
The main game took me 15 minutes while the challenge level took me 20 minutes. A single level. It's so much harder than the main game. The controls sometimes seem to stick, so I died because of that a number of times.
“Complete all 19 levels” Actually complete 19 levels, a boss level and a challenge level. Not that it matters much. It’s a pretty short game for a medium badge. I’ve seen easy badges that take literally 8 hours and this medium badge takes about 35 minutes.
The badges are not in the order of difficulty, but in the order of type of badge. What's annoying is constantly having to scroll up and down because the badge description goes up when you scroll down to the other badges instead of only the badges going up.
1 million monsters for one impossible badge and 50,000 puzzles for another impossible badge are literally impossible. I don't know about the level 140. Depending on the amount of experience required that may or may not be impossible too.
Can you even get the impossible badge anymore with Ruffle? It works fine mostly, but lags sometimes. I guess with the high speeds required to reach the restaurant on the moon, the lag is gonna ruin any attempt to get there.
They haven't updated the home screen for a long time. It says 19+ million game plays and it's already at 32+ million game plays. It's still technically correct though. This must be one of the most popular games on Kongregate, but it's much harder to check now with the new layout. I can't easily find the most popular game of all categories.
If you like to play this game every day, good for you. You should realize that this isn't even 1% of the peak of gaming though. There are so many better games out there you could be playing instead. Try them out. Get your weekly EGS free game and maybe buy a cheap game bundle for like a dollar per game.
