Loved the first one... sadly not finding this one anything like as playable and fun. A backwards step, but I can't put my finger on why. It just feels wrong.
At first I thought 'ho hum, another one of these'... played it a bit more and it got more fun as it went along. It'd be nice if Zombie Mode had a purpose, the inability to mute the game is very irritating, and winning the last fight in 30 seconds was a bit of an anticlimax. And 90% of the runes only seem doable if you spend several years pointlessly grinding. But overall, a very good take on the genre.
First game for a long time (6 months?) - 8:21... 2nd game got down to 5:01. Still a long way from my old best of 3:41.72 though. Good to see some of the same guys still playing :)
Moving the goalposts AFTER the game gets badges shouldn't really be allowed, as Greg based their difficulty on what the game was like at the time. Poor form.
I have a big, long list of things which irritate me. Flies. Loud music on public transport. Dogs not kept under control in public. Being out of tea bags. It's hard to find a place in such a monumental list for 'games which make me go elsewhere to be able to play them properly', but I think I'll plonk it between poor TV reception and Volvo drivers. Congratulations on making the list, and on the low rating you received because of it.
At first I thought it was a relatively easy, straightforward and dull game... but once I'd progressed a little and appreciated the need for diamond-collecting rather than just finishing the level, it got much more interesting. Great game.
Targeting system is poor. It makes shock and freeze towers a liability... needs to target the most advanced enemy (the closest to the end), not the one who entered the screen first as it currently does. That pretty much makes whatever qualities the rest of the game has irrelevant, to me anyway.
Levels of lag are obscene, but there's no reason the game *should* lag like it does... because there's nothing really going on. It's like there's an invisible, secret and totally pointless process going on in the game, wiping out as much memory as it can get it's greedy pixel-hands on...
