Few thoughts:
1) Wood is very strong, while stone feels very weak. The extreme amount of time it takes to farm stone makes this even more apparent. The lack of improvement in resource generation from upgrading mine is only salt in the wound.
2) Party requirements are pretty brutal, especially at higher ascension levels. Not being able to allow people to join when their monster level is lower than yours is burdensome. The 20 level gap is also insufficient as ascension level increases. Not being able to go backwards can leave people in very awkward positions if they advance as a group and then lose it.
3) The equipment system is really nice!
Overall, seems like a solid game, and with some fine tuning, I expect it to be a game to be played for months or years to come.
The game is pretty fun, albeit a bit too slow with the progress. I finished the first hero quest with only 1500 coins, it took forever to get to 5000 to unlock the second hero. I did manage to find a bug. If you take damage, and then immediately fall down a bottomless pit (second area, miss a platform), you do not take damage from falling. Instead, the meter bar just continues to rise indefinitely.
Hi nephilimsd, nice to meet you. Oh damn! This is a cool bug! :D Thank you for report it. We'll fix it in the next hotfix patch for sure. About the progression: we're working also on the rebalancing of coins and diamonds but for that we need a bit more time. Thank you.
The game seems fun, no energy garbage, reminds me of MechQuest. The single player content seems a bit short and lack of participants for PVP make overall content seem a bit lacking, but I'm sure those issues will be addressed over time. It's a bit disappointing not to see a way for F2P players to farm mythic gear, as there is no chance to receive those with non-premium currency, so free players will be stuck with whatever random rewards they get for levels and such. Hopefully that will be addressed with events, etc that reward premium currency or additional mythics. Nice job overall.
Hi nephilimsd. Thanks for the review. We'll give a lot of free rewards along the way - as much as we can considering this is a free game but we must earn money to maintain and develop it.
We also give a new mythical item every week as a reward for the top 3 clans in the weekly tournament.
By age 5, I was orphaned. Cold and alone, I wandered aimless until I came across a town, but apparently they were at war and thought I was a spy, as the guard turned me away without a second thought. Fortunately, an abandoned cabin was just outside, so I rested there for a year. When I returned to the town, their conflict had been resolved, as they welcomed me with open arms. After exploring the outskirts, I came across an old mine, and started to explore. The mine hadn't been used in quite some time, and monsters had infested the area. After clearing the first floor and finding some money, I returned to the town, exhausted. The next year, I found stronger monsters and more treasure. The equipment I had purchased made short work of the enemies, and I felt strong enough to claim the rest of the mine as my own. After returning the following year to test my new equipment... the game crashed.
5/5, would aimlessly explore again, but hopefully without the crashing next time!
When entering a number of things to purchase, it would be nice to have the option to enter the final amount that you want, rather than how many larva to spend. That number is generally far more useful.
I think it'd be nice to see an arena. Maybe lay out the card placement slots vertically and on the left and right, and make a little avatar for each monster along with their attacks. It would certainly address some of the graphical complaints.
A really fun game, but several bugs make it difficult to play. About half the time in PVP, the second player loses their first turn. Synchronization issues make it diffuclt to get or stay in a game in the first place. There have been a few packs that I have opened that didn't give all the cards (stopped at 3, then at 4). I really look forward to updates to clear up some of these issues
Hey Nephilimsd! We're working on fixing these issues. If you have an issue opening packs please send as a private message and we'll do all we can to help you.
I found a camp that sells ghosts. They say they will only stick around for one battle. That's not true. They will randomly say FREEDOM at the end of a battle and disappear, but it seems to be a ~20% chance. Also, if you re-do the battle, typically it won't happen again. I have over 400 ghosts when my cap should be 50.
Check the beach, under the bridge; indiehouse on the roof; City with the 3 raising platforms in the little alcove on the bottom right; and on the cave with broken platforms on the top left.
For the most part, this is a pretty good example of what an idle game should be. It's as much time management as it is idle. I'm not sure that there should be an option to purchase additional clicks. As it is, you spend some time waiting, then get to choose whether you want a sudden burst of money (work), more money per click (education), or some combination of the two. The stock market provides a way to earn a bit more by not being idle. The option to purchase extra clicks kinda defeats the function of the stock market. It would be nice if there was a bit more to do between long bouts of idling without the need to purchase consumable content.
Thanks for your feedback!
