This game would be perfect if not for having to spend real cash (USD) to pick up the loot you receive from defeating ultra tough monsters. 1/5 because of that. Sorry, but that's an absolutely LOUSY trick to play. You lost all stars because of that one thing. Respect your players!
If you jump past the end of the turtle stage where you stab his head, you can take a leap of faith out past the spikes to the right. You'll just clear them. If you run nonstop towards the right, you'll have just barely enough oxygen to make it out of the water, at which point you can jump off the end of the level :)
Ugh. This game blows. You can shoot your own guys, so creating any troop units is a complete waste. Once they get near the castle, you're screwed. You get nothing for destroying the enemy's castle, so what's the point? And the keys all stick, whether it's W/A/D to move your archer (which is useless anyway), or changing arrows, it's impossible to get the thing to not stick the key you're pressing.
Lousy game. Get your badge and move on. 1 star.
To get the badge, you have to have all 5 fuses in the fuse box. There's absolutely no good reason why this dependency is there..... I'm guessing it's a bug in the game.
I rate this a 3, only because there is too much clunkiness. It shouldn't take longer to move around than to figure out where to go next (ie, the long waits before moving between the important rooms). For the amount of time you have to enter and leave the basement/attic/van/bathroom..... it's just bogus.
Ok, so I'm giving up on this game. I just had an encounter right before getting to a city battle. So, I clicked "battle", and since fighting two fights back to back is bugged, this left me not in a battle, but with a single option of "Go". Hitting Go sent me eternally to nowhere, forever travelling and never stopping.
Done with this game now. Next time, don't release a beta version as finished.
Well, I apparently beat the game by not doing much... once you get to $1m, the game is over. The credits say "After a year and a half, this monster can finally lay to rest." Sorry, but it's way too buggy to say that.....
Ah, I found the problem... hitpoints only replenish at the beginning of your first fight during travel. So if you end travel with, say, 19 hp, and then start travelling again, your first encounter will determine your fate. If you encounter an overwhelming enemy, and choose to Flee instead of Attack, the enemy will give chase. If they catch you and attack, you will still have the prior 19 hp. Instead, you have to engage them first, get your hp to 100, then flee. Ugh.... That's just bad design all around. HP upkeep should be done upon entering a city.
The bugginess of this game is crazy. This should not have been released. I can deal with display issues, but when buttons fail to appear, leaving you stuck in an encounter.... that's just bad form.
Sorry, but I gave it a lower rating. The game has a good basis, but the system of earning money and upgrading is very poor. There's no way to really tell what effect stuff has on you, or which gun is going to work better. For instance, if you upgrade your gun to level 2, you can't shoot the doctor. The arrangement of that sort of thing is rather amateur.
