Money and shop are not well balanced. I think it should be something like: first time you enter shop all should be normal stuff. Then you pay X times more for +1 inventory. Then X times more for +2... until it reaches +10 stuff. X multiplier should be maybe less than 10. So you may bank and then gamble it for godd inventory.
Anyway, I don't think the weapon rating system is well tunned. The weapon with most damage are not even +1.
I loved the game. It was quite challenging. It is not just about math, but you need to plan problem solving strategies in the most difficult levels. I feel that if I had the oportunity to play games like this when I was a child I would be more intelligent now. So I think these type of games are a great resource for children who are in age of developing their brain.
