Often times when my mind wanders I contemplate the possible nature of existence. The scenario put forth in this piece of interactive fiction matches quite well to one such contemplation I have had in the past. Combining the enjoyment caused by seeing such a concept brought into a piece of writing with the quality of the writing and my personal preference for interactive fiction makes this a welcome addition to my favorites. Furthermore I wish for you to continue to produce such high quality work so that I might enjoy them all. I'd go into a more detailed review of the material, but this is just a comment section.
Worst possible ending? Yeah I knew that it was. I either get the best ending or worst ending 1st play of any interactive fiction game. Usually I end up with the worst ending though, I wonder what that says about me?
Oh, haha. It probably doesn't say anything about you. Generally, the choices that people are most likely to pick likely won't give the best ending. Otherwise it would be too easy and would give no incentive to play it again.
The only thing I didn't like were the required deaths. Viktor The I made it all the way to the point that he still had 10 years and was trapped in a hole with spikes. I was upset that I had to kill myself just for being so successful.
Well played, it only took a couple hundred deaths and had a nice level of challenge to it. I found the invisible wall levels easier than the levels just before them though so it was odd having the difficulty drop a bit before the end. Great game overall.
@JohnLyvenP At least 1 day is possible if the person can do that much dodging through the bullets. There's someone on the high scores now with a score of -2, not to mention a few zeros.
Part 4, final part; The two mediums of Rhythm games and real instruments do not connect flawlessly. I wish they did cause then I would have a few better scores on other, better synched games, with songs that I can 'PLAY'.
To end I would like to say that I'm sorry you had a bad experience with this game and I wish you luck in the future finding better rhythm games that are more to your taste. Rocksmith should be right up your alley as they are trying to create a more realistic guitar experience in a rhythm game.
Part 3;
Fifth, he might have held a guitar and he might have not that's not an issue. He could be a classical pianist for all I know and that would give him more then enough musical knowledge to track notes for a rhythm game. If he is a musician of another instrument that might explain the notes every now and then that seem slightly off from where they should be. However, the guitar is in reference to the fact that the music is guitar based. My sixth and final point, just because you can play a real instrument does not automatically make you perfectly flawless at rhythm games. Sure you are more musically inclined then the average player which should help you pick up the rhythm but it's not the same thing as playing a guitar. Saying that you can't get higher then a silver on a song that you can play would be almost like saying I can't play a song that I can get a perfect on.
Part 2
Third, while I admit that the correlation of the music and notes onscreen was not as good as it could have been there was still a correlation. The creator of the game did put in some effort into getting the notes at least semi accurate even if they weren't up to your standards. Fourth, while yes sometimes it can be easier to play the notes with sound muted I find this to be because of the lag between the audio and video more so then the notes not fitting the audio. Unlike games like guitar hero this game does not have a lag calibration and so if there's lag you just have to find ways to deal with it.
@ScruffytheJanitr While your complaint does provide a few legitimate points I must respectfully disagree. First of all 'Sticks' refers to the fact that the game contains stickfigures in some form which it does and therefore saying that the tags are wrong on all counts is not only wrong itself but also rude. My second point is that it does not ignore most notes pressed and in fact decreases points when you press the wrong notes or notes that aren't there. If you seem to have an issue with it missing the keys you hit then perhaps you should look towards your computer's keyboard. I know some people who have keyboards that only allow 2 keys pressed at any given time and also according to Starcryxxx's comment below there is an issue on some computers with hitting ASD and arrow keys.
@Carnaxhacker789 For me the left right left right part was the easy part its the transition thing that's between them that throws me off.
@fermel I got perfect with 13142 points.
@bennett2345 SCGMD4 is a fun game and telling you how many points you need is a good added feature but I would not call it easier, in fact the bosses can make it even harder then 3 at points. There are good reasons for people to play the 3rd and 2nd games in this series though because they contain songs that aren't in the other games and 3 is good for people who want to challenge themselves with more impossible combinations of notes while 2 is a good game to play more relaxed due to the simplicity of the game.
It greatly irritates me that I got a private message from a random stranger yesterday telling me I should use a bot to get prefect on all songs and offering a link to a bot. I am upset by the thought that a large number of users potentially have used a bot to earn this badge. In my opinion this destroys the entire purpose of the badges. They are a means of being rewarded for personal achievements. If you can not find a way to get the badge legitimately without a bot then you have no right to have the badge in the first place. I'm going to earn this badge the right way even if it takes me a couple more years of playing from time to time to do so. I applaud all those who have earned this impossible badge without the use of a bot and I spit in the eye of all those who felt a bot was necessary.
@andymakespasta This is semi accurate with one minor thing I should point out. You actually don't hurt the pirate god when you're at a x5 multiplier. x4 and x3 are the two that have you in the water and thus able to hurt the pirate god. So your statement is accurate if you just change the 5 to a 4.
@weatherboy1102 I don't know if there's a specific ruling on the limit of badges per game but I don't think I've ever seen a game with more then 4 badges. Regardless of whether this is true or not the side bar only seems to have room for 5 achievements and with the current challenge and the 4 badges already on the game all 5 spaces are filled. It is possible that they could add a 'perfect every song' achievement after the challenge is over so they still fit inside the side bar properly; however, I do not believe they will do so because the game already has 4 badges.
Pirate Boss is irritating on pro mode because you get penalized in a sense for doing good since you can't hurt him at x5 and x10 multiplier but at the same time if you force yourself to miss too many notes you drop down below x3 and still can't hurt him! I liked the god of time better >.>
Thanks, I really appreciate it!
