Loved this take on a bullet hell, but I had some pretty severe lag problems that made this almost unplayable. I'm on Chrome, which may be part of it (I've been having more trouble with Flash there than I used to.)
Very happy to see the save file updating seems to be fixed. I had no problems getting both medium badges today, and the hard badge appears to be updating normally.
Still love the browse function. I don't trust the categories, as it's obvious the Unity one is not updating correctly. That unfortunately also makes me suspicious of the rest of the stats, but I really do love that a "game" like this exists.
Not a fan. I don't mind hard games; I mind punishing ones. For a good definition of the difference, I'd recommend the Extra Credits episode "When Difficult is Fun." Much of this game was, in fact, fun. The sensitivity of the landmines combined with the diagonal rooms (by default) and the need to simply memorize certain patterns in some levels made this game very not fun after a certain point. And yes, I am including the bonus levels since I hunt badges and that's what brought me here in the first place. I would have finished the story, except I can't figure out how to beat one of the levels, and I've stopped caring because that level is so much harder than the ones before it.
final death count, 1990. Not as high as I expected, given how completely awful I was at level 59. At least 500 of those are from that level alone, and probably 1000 from the last 3 levels combined. I am not good at this game. But you know what? I still liked it. :)
Game is definitely hard, since I'm pushing 2000 deaths (and I expect to reach that number before I actually finish). Level 59 is kicking my butt. That said, I'm amused by all the comments from people that mark it down because of that. I REALLY like this game because it is so simple in concept and still manages to challenge me. The only level I didn't like was the one that was patchwork-y because I couldn't find an exit. And blue magnets are now the bane of my existence. :)
Submitted a bug report for this, but adding a comment in case you see this first: badges are being displayed incorrectly in the badge browser--it's dropping them at the end of rows. It's easiest to see this with impossible badges (because there are few enough out there that you can count them). There are 42, and showing "any" and "impossible" only displays 39. 3 rows, 3 missing badges. Also confirmed this with "unearned impossible" and medium badges. (I may QA for a living....silly job bleeds over into my play time :) )
So the enemies regenerate health now.... Great. If it were just on the epic setting, ok. No complaints. I mean, epic should be HARD. But I'm pretty sure I saw someone regenerating on normal, which is just...unnecessary. I definitely liked EW 2 and 3 better.
Wait, leaving the game and coming back doesn't disable the cheats? Not cool. I never would have turned it on if I'd known I couldn't turn it off again. :( I've got one challenge left, but I can't get it with the cheat on (this is and of itself is not a problem, rather a game feature I rather like), but it really sucks to have gone through the whole game and be screwed at the end like this. Guess I'll have to either hope for a patch or play the whole thing again...
Reset skills button would be a nice enhancement, but I'm much more interested in this fix: anytime I navigate away from the game, my saved game disappears. I had beaten all or nearly all the levels, and gotten brilliants on about half. Then I restarted the game tonight after I found the file gone, went away and came back to find THAT file gone too. Just tested it again, for the heck of it, and navigating back to the main menu, then click to play shows a saved game. Exiting the window and coming back erases it.
For anyone stuck with the hard badge, I started doing much, MUCH better once I started focusing only on the things that moved instead of things that shot at me.
One of the few puzzle games I'm actually pretty good at (except for that last normal one in the challenge...). Fun, easy to grasp. Thanks for a great game.
thanks:)
