First things first! Clues to recognise sailfish and sharks: 1) They are predators, (appearing both as black or white) so they bite immediately, without inspecting. 2) Their significantly bigger size than almost any other fish. 3) Very small secure area. Lure for both: live bait (shrimp’s good). A tip for suitable reaction at each fish face: 2xclick + hold only when it appears: 1) pulling (shows teeth looking upwards), 2) resisting (closed mouth, looking forward), 3) tired (open mouthed and sweaty), 4) exhausted (looks like dead with x-shaped eyes). Don't do anything when it appears angry (shows teeth looking forward). Remember that in order to bring back the indicator from the slack to the secure area you have to click whereas you just have NOT to click to do the opposite. A tip to find sharks that I've read on an older comment and always works for me: Just go away from the fishing spot (instantly) and when you'll get back you'll have much more chances to encounter them -over 70%-!
Use fly as a lure even though the circle is red. You'll find it at Lakehouse. Try to focus on (very) little fish which appear as black shadows. Hope I helped. Good luck!
Biscayne Shelf has many sailfish. They recently appear as white shadows with big size. They never inspect your lure but attack instantly so be ready! As for the type of lure, you' ll need a good jig, or live bait (shrimp always work and is slightly better than minnow). I always prefer live bait and the best for those fish is squid, but you' ll find it on the next level. Cut bait chunks won' t do the work. Be careful on how you secure the fish during the fight. 2x click will make things easier. Anyway it's much more easier than trying to catch a shark. Good luck!
It seems that it's a matter of (a lot of) practice after all. Two days ago I couldn't catch a shark and now I finished having 65/68 and 3 large Makos (732.45 lbs the biggest). For now I'm trying to find Atlantic Spadefish. It's just a matter of time :)
1) Both but usually black (at least the big ones including huge mako), 2) They are the biggest fish you see, so 10 - and I mean again the big ones, 3) Live bait (squid, shrimp, minnow), 4) It's on the menu screen (in game music button). Well, I think that they like most live bait like shrimps and minnows but I realised also that they're interested on jig. I don't really know. My problem is that I can't get them on the boat cause my line always snap! I've tried everything so far but it's still impossible to catch a large one!
