I'm trying to learn AS3 but I can't find any tutorials that actually help me. I want a tutorial without the downloading but I have to live it, which I can't. This is quite the opposite. 5/5!
I think it'd be cool if it can add the gold you made at the end of a battle, like I had 1,000 something gold from my mines at the end of my battle and I got NONE of it. Also if you have a tiny gold mine at the end of battles, only like 50 or 70 at the end or something. So it kind of makes up for certain things. Undefined, this is a great game! Is it your first? If so, tell me how you did it because I have a dream of making a game myself.
Okay I got an error telling me there's no property with the name health. This obviously means that there is nothing under the name health. How do I fix this? - Meaning: What do I name Health?
I don't know why it does this but my ship almost never hits the enemy. I'm hitting it straight in the middle and have to hit it about five or six times before it dies and by then it's hit me
I made my explosion really really really big and didn't make it a clip so it only lasted for one frame. It adds a nice touch, whenever you hit an enemy it looks like an explosive balloon bursting. Try it.
Ins0mniuS: I THINK I had the same problem as you. For me (CS5) Each different tab (ex. Ship, Background, Missile) is saved at different times. So if it says "Ship*" or "Background*" it means you haven't saved that tab. Just save each one individually and HOPEFULLY.... Voila!
How do I delete a symbol I can not find? I accidentally duplicated my background and it won't show up since it has the same identifier. It's not actually messing it up it just says the linkage won't work but the video still plays. I'm just worried about the future and Background Copy must be ELIMINATED.
I had a small problem with the background. Really really easy fix that even I (non-computer genius) figured out. It just seems so obvious... My ship was disappearing behind the background: Just put layer "ship" on top of layer "background" (swap their places) and it sends background to the... well, back.
