Beating the levels on 'regular' is way too easy.
Beating them on expert, at least after mission 30ish, is impossible unless you do the send all saves at once and spam bombs tactic. Which gets a bit repetitive. The only way to earn more than base points for the amount of kills, that I have seen, is waverushing, and even with supertowers fully upgraded they can't keep up with it. Multi towers are underpowered, I'd rather see straight up splash damage than the spreading bullet as its only effective if you...send all waves at once and supplement with bombs. Reduce the range and up the damage on it [ think desktop tower TD's bash tower]. I'd also like to see splash damage towers in general for the expert scoring.
All in all it entertained me for awhile going for all expert but the 2nd half of the maps was just 'same old same old'
I really like this game except for the sniper towers are stupid, problem. They have this great range but will only shoot at whatever's closest....despite the fact that things are getting away with a fraction of health that they are perfectly capable of obliterating.
That being said, I'd suggest something like :
red
yellow
blue
green
orange
purple
black
white
gray
rather than your current setup,with dark and light green, cyan, pink, etc.
It would be an interesting test I think, to do one with those colors vs. the colors you have now and see if people consistently score better (or worse).
6734.
I do not think the game is fun, its a bit rattling, but it fulfills its purpose as a 'test' tool but it isn't something I'd really do for enjoyment.
I'd allow number presses in addition to / instead of mousing over the #s because you lose a lot of time due to mouse difficulties and for this sort of test the ability to use the numpad would probably be of some help.
You might also consider changing some of the similar colors and instead switching in black and white, while they are distinguishable I think that the labels we put on colors in our brains ("blue", "green", etc.) is affecting the thought process; if this is part of the test, fine, but for me doing this I find myself verbalizing the colors as I go (green-orange-blue-etc.) and I got my highest score by going slow and thinking about each one rather than when I tried to go faster;
I like this a lot, just a few problems as others have mentioned;
Saving during campaign is really a necessity;
I'd also like to see damage values on the different towers, as is you know that 'upgrading' makes it 'better' but for someone who likes to micromanage in this sort of thing, I want to see how much improvement I'm getting for the money.
The tooltips and help is great, I've played through quite a bit though and still haven't managed to figure out what everything on the UI is, not everything is intuitive.
Overall giving it a 3/5, but could easily be a 5/5 game.
Interesting, but very slow paced gameplay kind of detracts from it. Would like to see more customization instead of all the building limitations on various squares.
Interesting idea, but the constellations should at least be close to correct - not whatever randomconfigurations you felt like doing.
Execution feels a bit slow & clunky as well.
I like it, just think it would be better as more of a puzzle game, than an action game. As has been said, having to have lightning reflexes makes it less about strategy and more about patience ;)
Why don't people like this? I think its great ^.^ Certainly original. Definitely one of the better TD games, skill points, level progression, lots of variety to choose/upgrade from. And its SUSHI!! ^.^
