Then there is the shadow fight. A fight where they have 3x your hps, do more damage, are immune to approx. 75% of your attacks, are 'vulnerable' to two attacks (Gely's jelly shot does less damage against the 'vulnerable' shadows then other mobs) , don't have to worry about power, don't have to follow rules like move and shoot, have an extra character with 30k hps, are capable of killing their 'equals' in a single combat. This kind of thing ruins a game for me. I don't mind that it's hard. I don't mind that they have an advantage, but a slaughter is just not enjoyable ...especially after the first 15 or so times you fight the same fight.
Positives: Graphics, dialogue, over all story line, abilities. Bug: Gely cannot move and summon. If you move, you never get a second phase.-- Issues: No respec outside of rare items. Fights are unbalanced and on normal are exceedingly difficult. Vulnerable creatures aren't. No explanation of the importance or affects of the stats outside of the strategy guide (which I as a rule, avoid.) Monsters don't seem to follow the same rules for power consumption (30 points for potentially what, eight or more party members.) Not all of the characters have a 0 power attack, so either you can attack or defend but rarely both (especially if you use anyone's ability.) Some special abilities should be passive (movement, etc.) No random encounters.
Oh, and losing focus on your monkey or what's on your cursor disappearing if you move off screen is not only annoying, but really is detrimental if you are doing more then one thing.
Love the game 5/5. Poor Random number generator 4/5. I love the concept, I would like it more with a bit more depth to the characters. Also, paying to teach someone is bit of a stretch. I would reverse Fame and Money, need the fame to attract students who then pay you... 3.5/5
Great little app to pass the time with. Use of arrow keys and being able to compare gear you find vs. gear you are using would be great additions. Confirmation on 'exit' would be good to. I thought it was a quick way to get down after finding the exit.
It's a decent attempt at nonograms. I have to agree with the comments about it involving too much guess work. It's not that hard to get a few squares to start, but after that it becomes a huge guessing game.
The great games are the ones that break the mold, step outside of the box. This one hasn't even gotten to the box. Sorry, it's just played out. I hate these games.
