Do I actually /need/ fully upgraded cannons? No, probably not on the early levels, but it's rather satisfying to not have any of their missiles even get over the green grass of the island I am protecting.
I get to the mission where you start with nothing and have to sell cities... I didn't realize cities made the money. I thought that you had passive money generation and the factories were the only things that increased it. You might as well build a crapton of cities because factories are too expensive.
Four tips: 1) Always kill every enemy that you reasonably can. Trust me, you'll need the XP for later floors. 2) Kitilids are amazing. Swarm is a great spell, and not having to need equips for it is a great bonus. 3) Create Skeleton is not nearly as good as it seems. Unless you have extremely high INT, the ones you create are always weaker than skeletons of the same type. 4) Critical hit is another really useful spell, good for if you're a mage character who's been backed into a corner and forced into melee combat.
Hey. Just a comment on the ability to get the Kongregate hats when not on Kongregate just by following the link then going back. That is a great thing. I don't play this on other sites, and I probably never will, but I have to give props to the devs for that. All in all, 5/5 great game BUT I agree with the current top comment that a way to upgrade stats would be nice.
Okay, I get the blueprints for a catapult workshop, but I've already built an alchemist's shop and a small market. I need more than the 2 units of soldiers to break the defenses of this castle, but I can't build a catapult because I can't build the workshop. There should be a way to delete buildings, or tear them down or something even if you don't get your money back for building them.
One upgrade that would be really, really great would be perhaps "buying shares" in the bank to, say, add to the base 2% interest, if only by .1% at a time. Either that, or decreasing the time it takes for the bank to pay you.
Great game. I give it a 4/5. I liked the accessory system, as well as the experience, although I don't like that exp piles up uselessly after you've maxed out a unit. Storyline wasn't particularly bad, and the final battle of the story did have a suitably epic feel. I beat the King of Hell! That was great. Although I find myself stuck on the Fallen Angel extra mission.
So, this was really your first try? This is an amazing game and has so much potential. I think that you should definitely make a sequel to this game, with 1) larger inventory, 2) Defense seemed more like a damage threshold to me than damage resistance, 3) Please let me evolve my Vulpin :) 4) last but not least, I would really like to see Speed play a bigger role in combat than who goes first.
I love this game. And what I love most about it is using a Wain to dispel my opponent's Magic Shield. Even though it still doesn't do any damage to them, it gives my castle 6 health. Might as well, right?
Really, really impressive game. An improvement on other "launch-the-blank, fly-really-far" games. The added destruction is great, and I just love crush the snowman over... and over... Well, you get the idea. And the fact that the bonus shop is free pretty much made me squeal with glee, which is impressive because normally my voice can't go to that high a pitch. I'm rating this 5/5, and adding it to my favorites. "Good show, old chap!"
