I have to say, it is a very addicting and fun game. That being said, I find it hard to get much higher than around 800 meters, since at that point, I'm taking about 4 hearts damage per hit. I think resilience should add defense too, or add a defense/regen stat or some way to recover health. I would also like to buy somthing with my diamonds after I have purchased everything, possibly checkpoints.
Here's a mini guide on items! In order from worst to best: normal->enchanted->artifact->fabled->legendary->godly. Selling price also grows the better your item is (actually selling stuff is pretty useless after a bit because shops are so cheap). As you clear a stage, it will give you a part of a "set" from that area. It appears to give stuff randomly, so it may take awhile if you plan on getting a specific set/item/stat/grade.
I didn't really like this game that much. The controls were bad, as it is far to easy to jump twice or accidentally fall off a ledge from sliding a bit too much. The music doesn't really fit that well, in fact, I flat out didn't like it (muted). The blocks sometimes don't fall down in a straight line like you want them to, just because they hit a stray pixel somwhere. To top it all off, NO R FOR RESTARTING A LEVEL! I know a lot of other people have complained about this already, but that's because it's very important to do so!
The best build is a cursed golem and put everything into stamina. After slogging through 15 floors, I decided to try running through floors as fast as I could with 100+ ice resist (for those annoying ice chargers). I got so ridiculously far into the dungeon and stuff had like 100 hp bars. I'm sure people can use this strategy for floors 10-15 to make it go a lot faster.
I think everyone is just a little too harsh here. Ok, I admit, there are lots of similarities with icy gifts. BUT, the game has many new elements added in (the portals, bubble speed, candies fall off the screen, etc) so in a way it feels more like a sequel. Nobody complained about gemcraft 1 and 0 being too similar (well, ok, this isn't a explicit sequel). I admit it's a bit easy, but still fun to watch all the bubbles blow each other up. So why focus on the similarities it has with a previous game when you can just enjoy this game as it is?
This game is a gem. The music is amazing, the gameplay is unique and original, and the puzzles are simple enough to solve without frustration, yet hard enough to present a challenge. Well done.
Survival mode is simply frustrating because of how random it is. Sometimes I would use my secondary attack only to get an even harder wave of enemies right after. Sometimes I will encounter enemies that rush on by littering the screen with bullets, and very little gold to boost my power. Even if you manage to get lucky and get enemies that drop lots of gold, sometimes they won't drop anything. Then again, this also works in reverse too. Sometimes you get lucky and get tons of shield drops leaving you invincible and everything else dead. It just annoys me how I can sometimes get to wave 80 and sometimes die early at wave 40.
If you wait long enough in each room with other people, you get to listen in on some other stuff. There's usually 2-3 hidden conversations after the main one :P
