Like the music and pixelated graphics, darker boxes being untouchable are kind of annoying (perhaps use a different indicator). Stopped at around the 3rd level because this game doesn't seem to have any depth or anything original. I also feel like it should be zoomed out a bit more so there is more reaction timing. Good hitbox testing and if this is a first game it is very good. Keep at it :D
Thanks man!, the darker boxes are just for the background, am working on a bit of story for it and i will try zooming it out a bit too, thanks for the feedback :).
I think it's a pretty cool idea if all the code of the game were shown in the game as textures, just wished I could read them clearly. I think the world as code in the game may represent that the world in reality is just a code made by a higher programmer (or god). Since the creator of the game seems to care about the emotional feeling, I felt uncomfortable throughout the game especially as the creep gets everything wrong about me. I feel as if the maker of the game seems to be aiming at a small minority of people who are creeps themselves but unfortunately I do not think in all probability that this game was popular to reach any of the intended target audience (creeps). I did however feel accomplished when I was able to get to the absolute top of the creature just wished there were more secrets or hints to more secrets there.
I appreciate the developer's creativity to do something very different and radical with the game.
Well found all 5 secrets. Heard the creepy guy's entire creepy speech. Found almost semi-transparent bridge from top of stairs to the "creature." Also found two escape routes from the maze at the corners of room where I started (they are very thin corridors). If you leave from these exits you fall down continuously and see the graphics of the bottom of the creature and a small circle of light (due to light secret shining on floor), until you meet a demise of pure blackness all around you forever. I guess the maker of the game just wanted to show that once you leave this world, there is literally nothing left, no heaven or hell but eternal nothingness. As an agnostic atheist I agree there is nothing after death however I know that my mark will have been made and hopefully if it is large enough it will not fade away. Therefore, this game seems to give an overall sense of meaninglessness and creepiness which has depressing implications for the player of the game.
@KillzoneAlpha: why not save your multi-path generator by uploading it to kongregate (save button at the top)? It make it a lot easier for everyone to see what you made without actually changing all of the settings by themselves and going through your paragraph of instructions.
Best Shooter Game I ever played. This game is really stunning with incredibly accurate sounds, missions, briefs and animations. 5\5 For sure. Thanks for the Game simonhason :D
@ChordSector You have to have the game already loaded up, and be on the main editing page (the page you go to after clicking play and skipping the ad) before choosing browse them all, or else the particle effects will not load up. But you can load particle displays from the game itself, rather than the kongregate sidebar; just click on the folder button located at the top and then click the "Load From Kongregate" button. This will show you all particle displays that can easily be played.
Great game, just needs a few touch ups: Erase page button (ppl woudn't think of using shift), random effects mayb should b tweaked a little because most end up in an ugly blurry circle, and the more you draw the more it lags. Thnx
lol Shaakrahin, wow you just made me notice that. Quite a coincidence because I did in fact create the images myself using photoshop. If you zoom in to this one, and the one made by sonny I am sure that you will find they are different.
Ok now I have to start working on a much better tutorial. Hax, when you have an emitter selected, the bottom menu will have either velocity or position selected. Under that their are three variables called radius, arc, and rotate. These variables correspond to what is selected above them (either velocity or position). The position setting is the initial starting place of the particles. The velocity setting is what direction and how fast the particles will be moving after they initialize. Try setting the radius to zero while the velocity button is selected (so that the particles don't move, also make sure there are no masses on the stage), and then try playing around with the position settings. It's kind of hard for me to explain, I think the best way to figure out what they do is to just keep experimenting with them.
